If she had been old enough to remember what had happened to her, then she might have been upset. She was born a human, but not long after her birth was she changed into a wolf by a jealous aunt. Kora’s aunt, Daria, had been unable to have children of her own - as a human or a wolf - so when she found out that her sister was pregnant, she started an evil plan to kidnap her baby and raise it as her own - as a wolf. Her plan went swimmingly and while she grieved with her sister, she secretly raised Kora. There had never been an inkling of suspicion thrown toward her, so when she felt the time was right she took Kora and moved to Florence (across the country from her sister). A few years later and she told her sister that she had adopted a child - Kora - and sent her blurry enough pictures to where her sister never suspected a thing.
Kora grew up blissfully unaware of her history, believing her aunt to be her mother. She and her aunt had a great relationship, and her aunt brought her into the life of being a Pagan. Kora threw herself into researching Paganism, but at the end of the day she realized that she couldn’t accept it - it didn’t make sense to her, the way of life, but when she told her aunt that, her aunt was completely furious with her. She told her that she had given up so much in order to give Kora a better life and ever since that day Kora had tried to avoid her as much as possible. That winter, Kora ran away from home at age fourteen.
Living as a lone wolf was a lot harder than her aunt made it seem. Fending for herself was bad enough, but whenever she accidentally stumbled upon another wolf’s territory, well, things got bad - especially if that wolf ended up being in a pack. Kora did have the chance to observe a few packs as she got older and she realized that she loved being a lone wolf - even if it was hard sometimes. Of course, over the years she grew and grew, as a wolf and a human. She picked up odd jobs during the hot months and was therefore able to slip into the shadows without raising suspicion during winter.
As much as she loved being a lone wolf, she realized that she would have to join a pack if she was going to survive; a hunter mistook her as a deer one winter and almost killed her. If not for the Lupus pack she might have never survived. She was acclimated into the pack and they are some days when she doesn’t completely hate taking orders from someone else.
Kora hates people. She doesn’t like them, doesn’t want to be around them, and she doesn’t want anything to do with them. She’s not a mean person - it’s the opposite really - but she’d much rather be alone. Being a loner for ten years has done that to her - she’s a little bit awkward around people but she gets along just fine. Kora is also pretty handy; if you give her a problem she’ll probably be able to fix it. That’s one of the things she actually likes about being human - fixing things. She says she has golden hands and, in her wolf form, golden paws (even if she can’t do anything as a wolf)
