I'm so sick of Mako right now, I hate scrolling through the Korra tag and ONLY seeing Mako this and Mako that. I used to love Mako, back when his character was based on more than who he was dating. Not saying he's a bad person. I just don't like his character anymore. He's had a shit ton of airtime and yet he's still super underdeveloped. I want an episode, just one, where there is literally NOTHING shipping related and just plain character development and kick assery.

Theories.

1. Okay so you all remember the face stealer Koh righttttt? And you remember how he hates the Avatar because in a past life Avatar Kuruk tried to kill Koh. Well anyway I think Amon traded his face for the ability to take away bending, and Koh agreed if Amon swore to defeat the Avatar. 

Possibly?

And don't go saying that Amon wouldn't be able to go to the spirit world and blah blah blah. Koh has the ability to come to the human world or he wouldn't have been able to steal Ummi's face

2. Iroh is Bumi and Honora's son. The color that Bumi is wearing is reserved for royalty, so we can assume he is part of the royal family and the only way he could join the royal family is marrying into it. Also Iroh is wearing the same collar mean he too is apart of the royal family, And I'm assuming he is too young for Honora so they can't be married so he has to be the son Honora.

3. Amon is Ty Lee's son who learned chi blocking from her, but azula escaped crazy town and set out to kill her and Mai and succeeded. And Amon is bitter at all benders now.

4. He's no one we ever ever heard of but is someone special who's de-bending skill can't be explained. Kinda like sparky sparky boom man.

5. Amon is half robot, the fire bender who killed his family didn't just scar his face but he burned his body so badly he needed prosthetics. When he got older he became friends with Hiroshi Sato and after Asamis mom was killed the two began plotting the eradication on the benders and Hiroshi built amon new and improved robot legs, arms etc. 

6. MAYBE Zukos mom hooked up with someone while she was banished and a decedent is Amon?!

7. Bumi, eh why not?

Dante Basco (voice actor of Zuko) is backkk, ahhh I'm so happy, I love love love his voice. I can't stop picturing Zuko when he talks though. Anyway, I love the fact that his name is Iroh; Iroh was my favorite character in ATLAB. Idk if this character is going to live up to my expectations though, I mean he's named after my favorite character and has the voice of one of my other favorites. If he isn't a complete and total badass I will be ashamed. I kind of want him to kick Amons ass more than I want Korra to at this point.

Now, I appreciate people trying to solve the mystery but,

Okay, let’s take a look back at Crossroads of Destiny, shall we? When Aang is all “I accept that Katara may be lost but she’ll be my number one lady forever!”, he starts glowing. Clearly, he has unlocked the Avatar State and is in it. This is when Azula comes in with her flying kick-a-pow and wtf pwns Aang. Yes, this is what everyone is basing their hypothesis on… 

But wait a minute! Anybody remember the very first episode of Book 2? The Avatar State? Specifically when Roku is all “The Avatar State is a defense mechanism, and if you die in the Avatar State, the Avatar will cease to exist.” So, seeing as Aang was technically killed in the Avatar state, that would squash any form of him being reincarnated right then and there. However, Katara brought him back and the Avatar continued to live. 

As for Korra having trouble being spiritual, that has to do with just that. Lacking spiritual connectivity. Remember in Book 1 of Avatar? During the whole Winter Solstice business? Aang, Mr. Spiritual 1.0 himself did not know what the fuck to do to get to the spirit world or what exactly to do when he was there. So, yes, it is taking Korra a hella long time because it’s not in-sync with her personality. Not because Amon got all of the spirituality from becoming Avatar 1.5. 

Just my opinion, but I really highly doubt this theory holding any weight whatsoever.

I like how every night no matter what time, the korra tag is always active. Except, that is, every friday night. All the little korra kiddies go to bed, even if were now college students and "too old for kid shows"

Headcanon: Tahno learns chi blocking and uses the equalists equipment against them as at the newest member of Team Uh-vatar while Korra helps him regain his bending by teaching him the basics. <3
