On the other side
“Tomorrow?”
Sinbad sat there, momentarily stunned to silence - a feat that only a select few have been capable of achieving. Then again, he never expected the other to agree like that. At the very least he thought the redhead would just punch him in the face to make him shut up.
“…Y-Yeah, tomorrow sounds great.”
The violet-haired teen cringed inwardly. Why did it sound like he was the one being coerced into this now? What a strange turnout of events this has been. Thankfully, Sinbad was distracted by a quick tap on his shoulder. One of their classmates was calling him over to talk about a group project.
“Right, uhm, I’ll see you at lunch then.”
Sinbad stands up awkwardly from his seat, giving the other an equally awkward nod before skedaddling the heck out of that room. He’ll have time to consider the serious repercussions of his actions later. Maybe.
The next day, Kouen was waiting in front of the cafeteria, looking around somewhat nervously to see if Sinbad would actually show up. Maybe it was all just a plot to humiliate him further after all and he’d stand here while everyone laughed about the fact that he thought anyone would want to have lunch with him. Or maybe Sinbad would show up but then only ridicule him at every turn...
He relaxed a fraction when he saw Sinbad actually coming towards him, but only until he realised that he had no idea how this would work. He had never been in the cafeteria before, he mostly skipped lunch and then ate at home with his siblings as that was the only time they got to spend together. How stupid did that look, a grown man who had never been inside of a cafeteria before...
He sighed a little and tried to let go of his anxiety. It was not like this guy meant anything to him anyway, he just tried to give him his chance to say sorry, and if he was still an asshole he could just leave, right? When Sinbad arrived where Kouen was standing he had managed to relax his face into some neutral mask again but gave the attempt at a smile when he saw the other.
“I see you actually meant it.”
