It's interesting how, in Kpop Demon Hunters, the Saja Boys sing "Don't let it show, keep it all inside / the pain and the shame, keep it out of sight," because Gwi-Ma takes advantage of people's shame to control and manipulate them. It's the people that refuse to face their shame and make peace with it/learn from it/overcome it/forgive themselves for it that are easier for him to control.

It's interesting that Celine preached, "Our faults and fears must never be seen," to Huntrix the entire time they were in her care, which is what ultimately makes them vulnerable to Gwi-Ma.

It's just so *interesting*, don't you think?

(I am waiting for the day a multi-chapter work gets published on AO3 going deep into how Celine's parenting style is the very thing that endangered the Honmoon in the first place.)

I also find it interesting we have no excplitit reason why the patterns change at all. Theres a subtext that implies predicted due to time, and of course a dozen metaphors we could extract from them getting better/not affecting her when Rumi is with Jinu, but it's never been clearly stated.

Curious if anyone has any theories?
