I think Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) is definitely [a character that’s changed the most]. He went from being a real bad guy in the first season to this season, where we’re really trying to craft him into a hero.

Not the first time I’ve heard Derek referred to as ‘a bad guy’ in season 1, but like??? No???? I still don’t get why people (meaning Jeff and the cast) say this repeatedly. Early in season 1 it was all set up to look like Derek might be the bad guy. But it was a bluff, right? a misdirect. And we find out that he’s pretty clearly a victim in the series of events that led to Scott getting bit. Yes, he made some bad choices, but at no point in the series has Derek actually ever been ‘the bad guy’ particularly in S1. I think arguments can be made for ‘goodness you made a mess of everything through your own fault’ Derek in early S2, but like S1 … no. Do you guys even watch the show you are making? Were you so caught up in your own misdirect that you forgot that Derek didn’t actually do anything but try to help Scott in S1?

Derek was never a bad guy he’s always been a hero, not an ideal hero like Scott but an anti-hero is still a hero nonetheless. He will do what Scott morally can not if need be. 

His life it already horrible and Derek would rather prevent that from happening to others if possible. He’s gone through a lot that most people haven’t yet still amazingly continues to try and help. Using him as a scapegoat for things (*read as everything) is really getting old too. 

If every episode since the start has been slowly tearing Derek apart since the very beginning and even before that how about some building him back up since there’s little left of him to be taken at this point really.
