It was truly absurd that such an abrupt change in topic could calm Elsa down, but it did. There was no rhyme or reason as to how or why this happened, but it just did did, and she was grateful for it. Too much grief existed in her life, and she did not want to be stifled by it for much longer.
Elsa will deal. She will survive. And she will start by mining ice.
“Yes,” she answered, voice muddled by her drying tears and stuffy nose, "I do Kristoff."
He could only take a sigh of relief as his distraction slowly started to work on the crying Queen. To be entirely honest, he had not believed that it would even work -- getting the Queen to stop lamenting her recently deceased sister. He would say that from experience it was quite a mountain to get over but alas, he did not have any siblings and could say nothing quite like that. He did, however, know how it felt to lose someone he dearly loved and in that way, he could empathize with the queen.
When she said yes to his question of ice mining - which he half wanted her to say no to due to it not at all being a job for a girl, let alone a Queen do - he smiled slightly. Plucking a handkerchief from his pocket, he gave it to the girl-queen and told her calmly, "Well then, let's get going."
