You hadn’t realized how serious König was until he said it one night—softly, almost like a prayer.

“I would do anything for you.”

His voice rumbled low behind the mask, huge frame blocking out the world as he bent down toward you. The words weren’t careless or exaggerated. They held weight, heavy as his body when he laid over you, heavy as the stare that burned through cloth and shadow.

You believed him.

It started in little ways—he memorized your coffee order, fixed anything in your apartment before you even noticed it was broken. When you sighed about being too tired to cook, dinner was already on the stove. You once mentioned offhand how annoying your neighbor was; the next day, the man avoided you like you carried plague, eyes wide whenever König passed in the hall.

He never explained. He didn’t have to.

When you looked up at him, you saw devotion sharpened into obsession, but instead of fear, warmth blossomed inside you. You loved it—the way he loomed so fiercely over everything that threatened to touch you.

One night, you teased, “You really mean anything, don’t you?”

He dropped to his knees before you like it was instinct, massive hands circling your thighs with reverence. His masked head bowed low, almost touching your stomach.

“Alles,” he murmured. “Anything. Everything. Tell me, Liebling, and it is yours.”

It should have been overwhelming, but you only smiled, threading your fingers into his hair where it peeked out. His breath hitched, his hands tightening like he’d shatter without your anchor.

“You’re mine then,” you whispered.

He looked up, eyes wild but shining. “Always.”

And you loved him all the more for the way he meant it—every word, every vow, every unspoken promise that he would never, ever let you go.

Kenji Sato was used to being recognized.

Everywhere he went, someone would stop him—whether it was for an autograph, a quick selfie, or just to say, Oh my god, you’re Kenji Sato! He didn’t mind, not really. It came with the job.

But you?

You were famous in a different way.

You were a model—one of the biggest names in the industry—but somehow, you had mastered the art of slipping through crowds unnoticed. Maybe it was because most people only saw you through polished editorials and high-fashion campaigns. Maybe it was because you had perfected the balance between standing out on camera and blending in off it.

Either way, Kenji found it hilarious.

And a little unfair.

Because here he was, practically hunted down in public, while you strolled beside him, sipping an iced coffee without a single person doing a double take.

“You’re enjoying this,” he accused, adjusting the hood of his jacket as a group of fans giggled nearby, clearly trying to work up the courage to approach.

You took another sip of your drink, eyes twinkling with amusement. “A little.”

He shot you a betrayed look. “Unbelievable.”

You laughed, slipping your hand into his. “It’s not my fault people don’t recognize me in sweatpants and a hoodie.”

Kenji scoffed. “They should. You’re literally everywhere.”

“I take that as a compliment.”

He rolled his eyes, but his lips twitched with a smile.

Before he could say anything else, the group of fans finally approached, shy but excited.

“Excuse me—sorry—are you Kenji Sato?” one of them asked, clutching their phone nervously.

Kenji sighed, but his expression was warm. “Yeah, that’s me.”

You stepped aside, watching as he took photos, signed a few things, and made small talk. Even after years in the industry, he never lost that genuine kindness when meeting fans.

You loved that about him.

Once the group finally left, Kenji turned back to you with a dramatic sigh. “See? This is my life.”

You grinned, tilting your head. “Poor baby.”

“Oh, don’t—”

Before he could finish, you stepped closer, standing on your toes to kiss his cheek.

Kenji blinked.

“…Okay,” he muttered, clearing his throat. “Maybe I don’t hate being famous.”

You smirked. “That’s what I thought.”

He narrowed his eyes playfully, then suddenly grabbed your hand and started pulling you along.

“Kenji?” you laughed. “Where are we going?”

“Somewhere I don’t have to share you with the entire world,” he said, tossing you a grin. “I think you owe me a private photoshoot.”

You raised an eyebrow. “Oh? And who’s taking the pictures?”

“Me, obviously,” he said smugly.

You rolled your eyes but let him drag you along anyway, heart warm.

Because even with all the flashing lights and screaming fans, in the end, it was always just you and him.

The boys were retired now but still looking for something meaningful to do with their life. Being hybrids, work wasn't exactly the most open for them, even small jobs.

So why not foster hybrid kids? Kids who they would make sure they didn't suffer in childhood like they had. Someone innocent they could help blossom in a good person.

Kyle was the one who proposed the idea. Being a big cat hybrid, he longed for kittens to look after. It just so happened that Ghost, a wolf hybrid, wanted pups to look after.

After the discussion, it sprung the want for cubs in Price and Johnny, a bear hybrid and hyena hybrid, respectively. They all wanted to help a young hybrid, someone they could dote on and help prosper.

So, they set to work setting up their house to foster standards and filling out a seemingly endless amount of paperwork. It was a long process, but they were nothing but patient. They all wanted this and on hard nights they'd use it as motivation to keep going. A chance to do good, one that wouldn't hurt anyone.

And you, who were their first placement. A young sheep hybrid. Horns that curled around your head and fleece that was matted down. You were so shy, especially around predator hybrids.

The first night was rough. You hid in your room the entire time. It was enough to send their instincts spiraling.

"Did we already scare the lad?" Johnny whinned, curling around Simon. Johnny's small tail tucked away.

"No, no," John soothed from his spot on the couch, a soft look in his eyes. "He's in a new place with new people, and we're predators in his brain."

Kyle made a chuffing sound, "we'll need to earn his trust, is all. That starts by making sure he knows he's safe here and we don't want to hurt him."

Simon hummed in agreement, hand running up and down Johnny's back. He didn't have anything to add, but he couldn't deny seeing the fear in your eyes set something off in him. It reminded him of his childhood and he was determined to give you better.

"I'll go tuck him in," John finally says, standing up. "Tomorrow we'll talk to him and help get him settled more."

But when John walks into your room, he finds you already curled up in the corner of your bed. Your small hands clutching the small plush you carried everywhere with you. He sighed softly at the sight. It causes your head to shoot up and lock eyes with him.

"Easy now, little lamb," Price chuffs softly, a reassuring sound, even to you. "Just here to tuck you in, alright?"

He waits for your small nod before moving closer. He picks up a blanket, a big beige one. It was soft and very new. John is so careful as he tucks it around your slim shoulders. You were so small.

"Tomorrow, we'll talk more, get you settled in more, hm?" John says kindly, smoothing the blanket out. You nod again. "Maybe go out and get you some new stuff? Or we'll stay in for a movie day."

You just watch him with your wide eyes. Your hair was matted down and John so desperately wanted to brush it out but he didn't dare push any boundaries. He'd make sure you'd get all cleaned up, tomorrow.

For the rest of the boys, tomorrow couldn't come soon enough.

They just had to be patient.

This is more a Meng Yao & Wei Wuxian fic, but still Wangxiana in this universe.

This fic had me cackling in delight.

The entire series is a blessing, and Meng Yao fighting the HOA is everything I didn't know I needed.

“Aw, but Granny, don’t we make a cute couple with our little one?” Wei Ying teased, tipping to the side to lay his head on Lan Wangji’s unoccupied shoulder.

Granny reached over and pinched Wei Ying’s cheek while Lan Wangji tried to pretend his heart wasn’t suddenly trying to pound out of his chest at how close Wei Ying was.

Wen Ning does what she asks as Wei Wuxian blinks. “What?”

“Our cousin gave us the flowers,” Wen Qing continues, her eyes never leaving the computer as she pencils in her clients on her little pocket notebook. She likes paper lists, something Wei Wuxian doesn’t quite understand in the digital age, but they all have their own eccentricities. “Or, well, really his father brought them over as a welcome gift.”

Summary:

This is a moment, right? Like, they're sharing a moment? Yuan is going to lose his shit soon, because Hanguang Jun is staring as though he's trying to get a read on Wei Wuxian, and it's probably the longest they've held eye contact so far. Wei Wuxian's heart is swooping into the pit of his stomach. There's a warm flicker of embers melting the ice of those eyes, something bright and intense beneath the mystery.

Either that, or he's playing the part reeeally well.

"Mn," he says, quieter; his nod, punctuation in its simplicity. "With you by my side, we can cross mountains and the seas. We can overcome anything."

Wei Wuxian is a foster dad and freelance artist. Once lost and still trying to find his way. Lan Wangji is an author – a master of all trades, jack of none. Following his foray into children’s literature and a circle group reading session at the bookstore, Wei Wuxian is helpless to do anything but find himself drawn indubitably into his orbit.

There is some light angst in this around class issues but it has the happiest of endings

This is one of my most cherished comfort reads.

“My help,” Wei Wuxian echoes. “You’re telling me the Second Jade of Lan has been transformed into a half-man, half-fish thing, and you believe I’m your best chance of saving him.”

Or, Wei Wuxian tries to break a curse, and finds that the answer may, after all, be love.

This is probably the most angsty fic on the lsit, but it has such a good ending i promise.

And we get merman Lan Wangji!

I do hate the Lan sect in this fic though. They are kind of awful, so heads up

Summary:

When Wei Ying unknowingly drunk dials a stranger to come pick him up from a party, he doesn't expect the guy to actually show, much less be this beautiful.

__ “I’m at—” Pause for a hiccup, “At that party I told you about, and ‘m suuuuper drunk, so,” Another hiccup, Wei Ying leaning more heavily against the wall, “I’m being a very good adult and asking for a ride. Please!”

“. . .Do you know anyone else there?”

Wei Ying barely made out the words, and wow did Wen Ning sound different when Wei Ying was wasted. “Nope!” He answered cheerily, “Just some of ‘em, like a little bit, not real friends but like—Ac-quain-tan-ces. That’s the word, right? Jiang Cheng and your sister say to be extra careful when—” Another hiccup, followed by Wei Ying having to close his eyes and lean his head against the wall to make everything stop spinning, “—When drunk. Ya know? Of course you know.”

Another silence, and Wei Ying let it drag out longer as he swallowed down the sudden rise of nausea, taking deep breaths through his nose.

“What’s the address?”

The leggings he wears show the leg muscles of someone who has probably been doing some form of acrobatics ever since they were a kid, and his arms are huge under his t-shirt. Huge. He’s just as tall as Wei Ying is, but his fit body makes him look shorter, somehow. Wei Ying swallows again, wondering if he has ever seen anyone who looks more like the ideal of beauty in his life. And then the man starts talking.

Fire Dancer Wei Ying joins the Circus, because he wants a more exciting job. He's forced to train with a handsome Trapeze Artist, who seems to hate him for no reason.

But Wei Ying isn't just here for the job. He's here to change his life! And that starts by making the inaccessible Lan Zhan like him, even if he has to annoy him into it.

I adore this fic. I love the fantastic nature of the circus and this fic does wonders for that world

The descriptions are stunning- also a very slow burn with no angst.

Or, the one where Wei Wuxian is a kindergarten teacher, Lan Zhan is a small town pediatrician, and the one thing they have in common is the kindergarten Lan Zhan's son goes to.

Oh this was so sweet. I love Kindergarten teacher Wei Wuxian stories.

Lan Zhan thinks he will have no problem remembering him tomorrow. He has very… distinguishing features. When the man’s face turns into a full grin, Lan Zhan turns around and goes back inside.

Lan Zhan meets an infuriating florist while he's working as the cook in a wedding. Wei Ying is loud, annoying and childish, and Lan Zhan can't wait for the time when this wedding is done so he never has to see him again. Surely, the world isn't so small that they would meet a second time. Right?
