Fun #koifishtattoo as a cover up of some early 90s kanji symbols (swipe left to see before pic) on my lovely client Amie. She started a amazing new chapter in her life with her baby girl whom was just born. She wanted a koi for it's symbolism of overcoming adversity. Stories are told of how they climb waterfalls that have strong currents. It is said Koi was determined to reach the top of the waterfall so it persevered and succeeded. 💜 Adore she wanted it purple! ✨Finished up my painting of my childhood horse "Bull", he was such a huge influence on my life. Fun fact, I spent a lot of my childhood on a small horse ranch in Florida. Everyday I would come home from school he would stray from the pack and meet me at the fence line. I'd jump on his back and ride him to the barn (10acres away) no bridle, halter or saddle. I would just hold onto his mane and wed walk or run and I would tell him about my day. I've never had such a deep connection with any other animal in my life. He is missed dearly. 🖤 Hes nowy new banner & part of my APP (by @anchorsmedia) so he shall live on!!!!! Ursula is only drawn with six tentacles, due to the studio's budget and difficulty in coordinating eight tentacles (though she has eight limbs if you include her arms). Pat Carroll has stated that this makes her a squid, though biologically she still resembles an octopus far more than any other sea-creature. This way I can use the lines from the old tattoo by making them into the lines of the new tattoo. Which helps fully cover the old tattoo.
