KogKag Week - Prompt #3

Separation/Devotion

This was waaayyy longer than I intended, but I hope you enjoy!

“Where did she go?” Kouga growled, grabbing Inuyasha by the front of his robes.

Kouga didn’t understand what he was saying. He felt like he couldn’t breathe. What did he mean she was gone?

“She went back home,” Inuyasha replied. He couldn’t look at Kouga’s face. Inuyasha failed to protect her after the final battle. The shikon jewel was gone, and it took her with it.

“Well where is her home? I’ll find her. She can’t just have disappeared! I can barely smell her anymore,” Kouga’s panic was evident in his voice. No matter which way the wind shifted, he couldn’t catch a whiff of her scent. That was what caused him to track Inuyasha down.

“There’s no use. She’s gone. There’s no getting her back.”

Kouga knew Inuyasha believed it was the truth. He threw Inuyasha on the ground, and took off as fast he could. He traveled as far north as he could, trying to catch the scent of the woman he desperately loved. He traveled from coast to coast, hoping to catch a glimpse of her raven locks and welcoming smile. He only found old campsites where she slept, and even then the smells were fading away.

me, internally: her stuff has ALWAYS been incredible. just because her old stuff was more party and dance music and used autotune and was marketed towards teenage girls doesn’t change the fact that her lyrics have always been clever, heartwarming, and just plain fun. even if her old music wasn’t personally your cup of tea, you can’t pretend that she hasn’t always been a talented musician with a great voice – y’all talk like she didn’t release stripped-down versions of her old music with no autotune years ago, PROVING her voice is amazing. animal, cannibal and warrior had so many bops on them, so many uplifting party songs, and from the very beginning, she has been subverting and satirizing the drunken party girl image her label built up for her. and let’s not even get into the fact that she has a genius level iq, and is an all-around great person and has always been outspoken about human rights, and is an inspiration for abuse survivors everywhere, and,
