Hands Off Buddy
kryuqi:
it’s akin to a melted belgian truffle – dark, rich and leaves no question about coating ones tongue thickly before it flows down the throat. the top is normally bare, but the special displayed on the board at the front of the cafe includes a swirled topping of frothy, white milk foam and is spotted with a heavy dusting of cocoa powder.
small curls of steam rise from the ceramic mugs, slipping past the foamy milk and vanishing into the air. she moves away from the granite counter tops, balancing the saucers and placing them down in front of the pair of customers sitting at the nearest table. it wasn’t an overly complicated recipe – hot milk, cocoa and some sugar with a little topping, but yuqi had been a firm believer that sometimes the most simple of things were the most delicious.

A huge grin slowly formed on Hyunwoo’s lips as the female approached his table. Just as he’d hoped, Yuqi was the person who brought the items he ordered. She was literally the cutest, most sweetest girl he’s ever met and he hoped with all his heart that she would at least accept a date with him. However, he didn’t know how to even ask the simplest question without involving coffee in it or work itself. He was terrible at flirting and didn’t know if the female even knew he had a thing for her. I mean, how could she not at least suspect when he’s extremely friendly towards her unlike the other staff in the establishment (not that he was mean to them though!).
As she spoke, the male kept getting lost in her eyes. Always responding at the right times but comprehending everything seconds later. When she commented about his choices he immediately felt self-conscious. The male was literally such a simple guy. Everyone literally knew his order in the cafe. He rarely switches things up which made him feel like he lacked in the “I’m Interesting” department. But if he was honest, he didn’t even want the cheesecake. It was just a complete excuse to sit down and chat with the lady in front of him for at least a little bit.
But then there it was.
The sound of a cup smashing against the ground. That sad moment where Yuqi walked away from him. I mean she was just doing her job and she would be for sure be right back, but he a least wanted to reply to her question.
He really wanted that special Hot Chocolate of the day.
Hyunwoo’s eyes followed the female as she walked towards the affected area. He thought it would be a nice gesture to help her clean up but it looked like someone was already at the scene. It was a man, and Hyunwoo instantly recognized that he didn’t have nice intentions. Not that he looked like a bad person or anything. From the outside the dude looked normal and friendly but Hyunwoo had a feeling inside of him which told him he was not nice at all.
And then he got too close.
Hyunwoo’s eyes widened and he instinctively moved forward, shaking the table a bit too hard and almost spilling his own ice coffee, which he caught just in the nick of time. He could hear the conversation from where he sat and how the man kept apologizing for spilling everything, yet he was still very close and very touchy.
HE’S DOING THAT SHIT ON PURPOSE! He thought. Anger boiling inside of him.
So many scenarios played through his mind, thinking of what he should do next. But the important question was, did he want to get physical? Most of the scenarios were already VERY physical and honestly what did he have to lose? One of them, which was the one he was leaning towards the most, involved the napkin holder on his table flying at full speed to the other male’s head. He could also go over and spill his ice coffee by accident on him... Or smash the delicious cheesecake on his face. He couldn’t decide. All he knew is that he was enraged by the other’s actions and he needed to do something quick.
As Hyunwoo stood up to walk over, the brave male did the unspeakable. He dared to touch Yuqi’s butt. Oh and that’s not all. He tried to play it off as an accident. He TRIED it. Furious, Hyunwo speeds up. Ice coffee on the left and cheesecake on his right. He walked over to were Yuqi was, eyes fixated on his target. Once he was a safe distance, skillfully and aggressively, he throws the cheesecake on his right hand straight at the male’s face. “Bullseye!” He exclaimed once the cheesecake landed on the target. Passing up Yuqi, he takes his left and spills the ice coffee right above the other’s head. “I’m sorry. You looked quite thirsty from where I was sitting”. His words were followed by an uppercut which sent the male flying to the floor. He walks over, taking one of the napkin holders on a nearby table and crouches down. “Hey, my man. Girls aren’t toys for you to use your filthy, “grabby hands” all over them. Learn how to respect them or next time it’ll be worse for you”. Then with a strong swing he hits the male dead on the face with the napkin holder.
“You got a little something on your face eh, clean it up why don’t ya.” he smiled, feeling satisfied with himself and standing up to face Yuqi. He was almost certain she wouldn’t be impressed by his actions but the guy needed to be put in his place. With an apologetic look on his face he smiled shyly, holding the back of his neck.
“I’m really sorry....” He was panicking. Her sweet face staring back at him was too much for him to handle. He didn’t know what to say next but he needed to say something now. Something smart. Something cool. Something smooth!
“Can I make it up to you over coffee?”
