I haven’t been on tumblr for so long, but I feel like I have nobody to really talk to so I’m just going to vent I guess.

But I think I’m gay, and I just want to cry. I’ve been scared and in denial for so long, and I think I’ve been trying to repress myself for years because I was trying to be someone I’m not and I wasn’t sure of myself. I thought I was bi, but I realize now that I’m not. I’m gay, and I feel so overwhelmed.

I don’t know what to feel right now. I guess I feel anxious? I was outed as gay in high school when I wasn’t sure, so I think maybe that’s why I tried to date a guy, because I didn’t know what I felt and I was forced into something I wasn’t ready for. I spent years in that relationship unhappy because I constantly wanted to leave and be with a girl. I fantasized about it all the time, but I thought that I just was insecure being bi and in a hetero-presenting relationship. I almost left so many times so that I could date girls, but then I got too scared, because I thought that since nothing was wrong with the relationship itself, I had to stay. I thought I was poly, but it was only because I really wanted to be with a girl (although I may still be open to poly? I don’t know). But I realize now that it’s not normal to feel that way in a relationship is it? And now that I’ve been out of that relationship for a while and had the time to think about who I am and my feelings, I realize that I’ve never been in love with a guy, nor have I been attracted to guys? I think I just try to convince myself I am because I’ve grown up thinking since I’m a girl I’m supposed to be with a guy?? But with girls it’s almost like magical, and my heart feels so light and happy and I get butterflies and I can’t stop smiling or thinking about them. I can see myself kissing and loving and marrying a girl and growing old and being so happy. I’ve been so depressed for so long and I have so much self-hatred and I think it’s because I didn’t want to feel these things and I’ve been trying to force these feelings away for years and it hurts so much.

I realize I’ve always been this way and it’s hard for me to swallow that. I’m scared and I feel very alone. I’m not sure where to go from here. I think my heart is broken and I did it to myself.
