“If it's true what they say
If there's nothing to be done
If it's true what they say
Is this how the world is?
To be beaten and betrayed and then be told that nothing changes, it'll always be like this?
If it's true what they say,
Jason you’d have love Hadestown *adding this song to my playlist for rereading utrh*
…It’s very important to me that Jason is the only one that return within thousands of victim and death, countless people suffered for the purpose of the stories, because of all the villains in comics, and he was their voices, when he confronted Bruce and asked him why is the Joker still alive he was not asking it only for him but for thousands of people that fell down the way he did (there’s this person that express this statement better than me but I was searching and could not find that post)…. And with this song it’s like they were also watching him in utrh like what the workers did with Orpheus… “Show the way so we can see, show the way the world could be, if you can do it, so can she, if she can do it, so can we, show the way.” (fuck, the “she” in the lyric could be Gloria.) They were watching him asking Batman that question, to see if he can make it, “And no answer will be heard to the question no one asks, so I'm askin' if it's true, I'm askin' me and you, and you, and you.” → It was when he was asking Bruce, when he was asking him that just why... And it's a question that no one asks because... well, they can't but now Jason asks and he wants an answer from Bruce and this is so important that Jason is one of “them” while Orphesus is not one of the workers but the outsider that leads them… No, Jason is one of them too.
And the way he failed, the way he fell like how Orpheus failed :) The tragic nature of this is truly magnificent… But “this is a sad song, and old song, a tragedy, but we’ll sing it anyways….”
