For this year's summer flash mob, we're doing something along the lines of "Mermay"—drawing our characters as sea creatures. I chose the lionfish because they're beautiful, and it seems to suit Musashi well. I also decided to mix up the background a bit, just for the sake of practice.

Fun fact about lionfish: they are eaten as food, despite being venomous (a nod to fugu).

Anyway, I finally decided to draw my beloved *Nanbaka* characters—not just in the usual way, but with a bit of a twist: drawing them the way I *see* them (???????). It’s a weird way to put it, but the idea is basically just to show how the characters feel to me personally.

IN LOOK, here's what I came up with: I can make it so that the Furs are Furs, and the animal niche is filled by bugs, worms, slugs, and so on (basically, most small creatures, invertebrates, fish, and anything without legs or at least the beginnings of them). There's a downside, of course, since there are characters that I imagined as bugs or marine mammals, but I'll figure it out somehow. (Maybe I'll make more sketches with animals later.)

headcanon that his father had long hair (I know that there was a shot where it was clear that he had short hair, but I’ve had this idea for too long, + according to Sashi’s family, few people do anything, so I don’t see anything wrong with it)

SHHHIIIIISHHH In short, I found RIGHT THE VERY FIRST sketch with Sophie (headcanon Musashi's mom) and decided to substitute it for the VERY LAST one. It seems like there is a year difference... probably 2-3, but supposedly that’s something. In fact, I have a certain complex, saying that my skill is not developing as quickly as others, but I’m trying to get rid of it. I’m also sadly amused by the fact that I used to be really afraid of realism, they say, it’s difficult and in general I’m definitely going to crap, because I don’t even have a basis in art, but now I’m just filled with love for noses. I’m not saying, fuck it, I’m drawing awesome right now, I’ll always have something to strive for, but I’m already happy with at least this kind of progress
