[This is a headcanon-heavy canon-compliant indie rp and ask blog of White Cloud/Shiroi Kumo of Final Fantasy: Unlimited, the counterpart to Black Wind/Kuroki Kaze, who is my main muse and where 90% of my activity sits. If you have not watched/read this series, be advised that spoilers will go untagged as FFU is now 20+ years old. Furthermore, a lot of potentially triggering content will be present (tagged as trigger name tw) - I do not tag for general violence and mental illness as these are too plentiful here and if they bother you, this blog is not for you, please take care ^^, I do however tag for blood, gore, body horror, flashing gif/epilepsy, snakes and spiders to the best of my ability. If you want something else tagged please let me know and I will. Keep in mind my portrayal of Kumo is dark; The swordsman is dealing with many issues, including an all-encompassing savior complex and survivor's guilt. He is generally cold and distant and it is important to make the distinction that mun =/= muse.]

Being a Sword does have some overlap with being a Guard Dog but there's some important differences. A Guard Dog can go off leash. A Guard Dog needs to be trained, and rewarded, and serves out of love or duty or force or something. A Guard Dog is fundamentally a living animal that acts in a specific way due to its instincts or its desires or its sense of love and loyalty. A Sword might have all of those things. A Sword might feel love, a Sword might hate, a Sword might want affection. The fundamental difference is that it doesn't matter what a Sword feels or thinks. It's a Sword. It doesn't matter if it hates you. It doesn't matter if you love it. It cuts just the same.

Kumo, Malik and Kyle get into a fight over how to properly construct a tent. Kyle flees as Malik kills Kumo.

"WHERE YOU GOING, HUH? YOU FORGOT YOUR TENT POLES! YOU FORGOT YOUR TENT POLES!"

The enraged, maniacal Malik screams out to the fleeing frat boy with his hands all bloodied up. Surely, the occasional alliance between Malik and Kyle has officially been broken now.

Despite the other's ability to turn into mist, Malik delivered a killing blow the moment Kumo was distracted. However, the fact of the matter is, is that Malik continues to brutalizes the corpse as he continues to yell obscenities.

"CLEAR A PATH MOTHERFUCKER!" The lord throws a random dismembered body part in the direction of the frat boy who fled.

Regrettably, the prince did not know how to construct a tent, either. Instead, he opted to hover awkwardly in the corner while the other royal busied himself with stabbing funny shaped poles into the hard ground.

"Kyle, could you kindly fetch -"

He felt a sharp pain in the back of his neck, and the lights went out. For all the perks of their physiology, Misterian bones were incredibly brittle.

When he awoke it was with the metallic tang of blood in his mouth and a resulting sensation that his participation in the... game was over. All because of a trivial disagreement. He wouldn't even call it a fight, really - at least until Malik decided it was prime time to assassinate him. Oh, well.

What did bother him, however... oh, no. That replay wasn't pretty. He sat in the air with a sigh, cape flowing lightly.

"Malik..." He started, in that same quiet and almost distressingly calm monotone that scarcely betrayed the full extent of the disgust he held for the other at the moment. "We are going to need to have a talk about gratuitous violence against dead bodies."

...Well, he couldn't exactly hear him through the screen, but the prince was sure to give the maniac a piece of his mind after the manhunt had concluded.

He returns with an entire ass deer carcass slung over his shoulder, though its head has been eaten off and some of its entrails are just threads away from popping out of its torn orifices. He's covered head to toe in blood, but he's hardly bothered. Petrel, yo.

"What a nice prize. I got a bit to sustain me for a good while. Now to dress up the rest of the beast, salt it, perhaps season a good portion of the flesh for a nice steak din-"

Oh no. His camp has been raided.

"...They took my seasoning packets."

"R-remind me, why are we working with... You are aware what they are, yes?" White Cloud shuffles uncomfortably while the others sneak back the way they came.

"Silence, fool, I'm doing God's work. By which I mean mine." Replaces seasoning with gunpowder and waits in the bushes with a huge grin, a lighter and piece of string leading to Nils' supplies.

Rashid grumbles indignantly while there is a whole-ass stick through one ear and out the other. "I've had worse."

"Please, Sir. Kindly refrain from speech at the moment. Or drinking your beverage." The prince fumbles with the stick for a moment. He was trained in first aid, but this? Did the thing go straight through the man's brain?

....Was there a brain...? Well, Rashid looked human. He would assume the brain was, indeed, inside the skull.

Running is a bit of a strong word, isn't it? He takes a metallic sigh, and fades into the Mist before anyone can notice.

He would have no part of these fools throwing their lives away on the very first day. Nor would he bring himself down to the level of Black Wind getting his nose broken over bread.

PSA: For fan works, reblog and like from OP

Tumblr is rolling out a new reblog/notes system that completely disregards creators. In their new system, they're taking a twitter-style approach where reblogs will have their own notes that DO NOT contribute to the original post's notes.

Because of this, creators will no longer be able to see an accurate display of likes/reblogs/etc. This is completely altering the way feedback and responses to works are going to be received on this website.

If you come across a fan work that you enjoy, please take the extra step to go to OPs original post, and leave your comment/like/reblog there. Or go one step further and send an ask to OP directly to tell them what you liked!

I really hope Tumblr staff reverses course and reverts to the original reblog system for the sake of the large base of creators who use this site to share their works, but until then, please be considerate and make sure the creators here see/feel the love.

"....That is valid, honestly." Though it endlessly confused him how unphased Kaelan seemed, he, too, would rather discuss confections than alien entities defying gravity. It was even refreshing, to not be gawked at for once.

"I do enjoy apple pie. I've had it before with va-vanilla - Is that the word..? Ice cream. It was delightful." The masked Misterian let out a metallic-sounding chuckle. He wasn't sure why the blond thought he might duel him over food preferences, though. He chalked it up to another strange aspect of Maginican culture he was not privy to.

"Mhm. Culinary arts evolve as all things do, my friend. I am quite looking forward to trying all sorts of pastries."

He had a lot of time to keep tabs on further sweet developments, after all.

I just feel very liberated and validated in my love for this muse today, tbh. Iykyk. I really care about Kumo. And I'm so happy bad experiences in the past didn't destroy my perception of him.
