Like mother like daughter
Let's talk about Sansa and Arya for a moment.
I write this in reference to my previous post in defense of the insults that the character of Sansa receives, and I am sorry that a part of what I wrote has been misunderstood by some people so I want to clarify this topic!
I'm not belittling Arya! In fact, she's one of my favorite characters in all of ASOIAF and I love the relationship she and Sansa have. What I said is simply my opinion (which I decided to write because it is one of the most discussed topics in the fandom).
That being said, I truly believe that Arya would not have survived what Sansa went through just as Sansa would not have survived what Arya went through.
Clearly I wasn't trying to defend Sansa by saying this as I think she would have died right away if she had found herself in her sister's situation. Sansa, as intelligent as she is, does not have the skills and personality of Arya and that would have killed her.
Same thing for Arya, as much as her character has grown and become strong, this in my opinion would not have happened in King's Landing because she wouldn't have received the same training, therefore she too would have died immediately. Arya, as sly as she is, is not as smart as her sister sansa.
I love how different they are, and as much as I hate what happened to both of them, these are the right experiences for them because they contributed to the growth of their characters and what they have become.
However, this is just my opinion, so I would be curious and happy to hear opinions from the fandom different from mine!
Canonically sansa is stupid as hell
Jon breaking his vows to save arya vs rob not exchanging his sisters with jaime because 'they're just girls"
Furthermore, Robb says that marrying a girl whose family were Lannister vassals, even though she slept with him of her own free will, is the most honorable thing he could do. He is such a loser
"Arya will forgive Sansa for everything because they're sisters 🫶🏾" How come them being sisters didn't make Sansa nicer to Arya to begin with?
The coup in Harrenhal leading to Roose being in a position to bargain with Jaime, leading to him helping with the Red Wedding, leading to him gaining favor with the Lannisters and being named Warden of the North, leading to Arya's name being used to solidify Bolton rule through marriage and creating conflict in the North, leading to Jon's inner conflict in ADwD and influencing Stannis' actions, leading to Jon betraying his vows and dying, leading (potentially) to Jeyne leaving Westeros for Braavos still disguised as Arya, leading to Arya reclaiming her name and returning to Westeros...Oh Arya, your impact

‘ “He has a song,” [Rhaegar] replied. “He is the prince that was promised, and his is the song of ice and fire.”
‘He looked up when he said it and his eyes met Dany’s, and it seemed as if he saw her standing there beyond the door.’
