rainbow dash would do this and then there would be a whole episode about how her friends become worried that she thinks lowly of their talents such as "apples" and "rocks" and twilight sparkle puts her foot down and introduces rainbow dash to the guy whose talent is crabbing and she spends a day on the boat with him gaining an appreciation for his humble skill and unending respect for the bounty of the sea and to a greater extent the fact that everyones talent no matter how inconsequential it seems is valuable

expecting fanfiction to be a good source of sex ed, mental health awareness/accuracy, or be 100% Correct and Right about everything is uhhh…..not how that works.

if you encounter something in a fanfiction (and let me remind you that it is something someone does for fun in their free time for free) that you don’t like, or find annoying, you can just fucking close the tab.

i’m from california, i’ve read many a fic set here that is very much written by someone who has never set foot in california. but guess what? idgaf. if it’s that egregious, i exit the fic.

if they have the characters using spit as lube with no prep and everyone is moaning in pleasure and having a great time and they come a million times and last for hours? cool. i know its fiction and that’s not how real sex always goes.

if they portray autism or adhd, disorders i have, in a way that feels heavily influenced by stereotypes or misinformation, i just nope out of the fic!

what i don’t do is tell people what they can and can not write in their own story that they are writing for free, in their free time, and share with us.
