Found but not lost [@kurreia]
Wrong.
Something about the way this young man said those words felt terribly wrong. Any other person who had the (mis)fortune to meet the Kurage familyās twins wouldnāt notice the difference but Kouen prided himself on being able to spot the slightest error, the proverbial single hair of out of place.
True, he couldnāt outright say this was not Alpha. All physical evidence proved in favor of that assumptionā¦but his instincts were in the red, warning him that something was not quite right.
ā⦠My apologies. Then again, remembering all the influential people your esteemed family talk to on a daily basis must prove quite a chore for someone of your delicate constitution.ā
Alpha and Delta Kurage can be considered the wayward Olsen twins of the business world. Born into an affluent family with main ties in maritime trade and cotton production, the pair rarely had a care in the world and their ārecreational habitsā certainly showed it. A long rap sheet filled with gambling and disruption of public peace was only the tip of the iceberg. An encounter with either twin can be likened to downing an entire cup of scalding tea in one sip - ridiculous, unpleasant, with a serious afterburn in your throat and bowels.
āAlthough I must say it is quite rare for you to be seen without your twin. Or should I be expecting someone to surprise me with a banana cream pie to the face like in what happened with Madame LāRueās last soiree..?āĀ Ā
"A banana cream pie... to the face? How awful!" Clear failed to supress the response that escaped his lips as a look of slight horror materialized upon his features. He knew that both of his brothers weren't exactly the world's angels but he didn't think they'd pull off such a tasteless prank. Food should not be wasted for mere amusement! However, just as soon as he was done fretting over how much food was dwindled by those two, Clear soon arrived to the inevitable realization that he had reacted in a way that Alpha never would and that left his heart racing quicker than before.
Oh no.
Hastily, the pale-haired male settled down the planting instruments he had in his hands and reached behind him to untie the apron that prevented his outfit from getting any kinds of stains. He avoided eye contact with this odd stranger as he did so, clearing his throat in the utmost natural way he could though it had only proven to be most uncomfortable. The manās gaze nearly felt as if it was burning through him.
"Ahaha, I mean, of course I wouldn't do something that I've already done before! I'm going to do something meaner...!" He kept his gaze lowered down to the ground while he brushed past his brother's friend-- or at least that's what he believed-- to hang his apron at the rack. "S-So if you will excuse me, I have to go and do... mean things to... unsuspecting people who have not done anything bad to me but I still want to be mean to them."
Just as he turned to escape this seemingly never ending nightmare, he failed to take notice of the small puddle nearby and before he knew it, he found himself slipping and falling down to the ground with a harsh thud! much to his embarrassment. "O-Owwww...!"
