Zero Discrimination Day
Today is Zero Discrimination Day, a day founded by the UNAIDS organization. Today's purpose is to focus on removing the stigma that goes with the HIV and AIDS virus and to prioritize finding solutions to such a horrifying epidemic. In 2015, an estimated 36.7 million people were living with HIV (including 1.8 million children). Today, Kutoa challenges you to speak out on an issue that affects everyone. Let's fight for zero discrimination together! Learn more: http://ow.ly/J7pe309qd3o

Child Soldiers
Since 2001, child soldiers have been recruited in 21 armed conflicts internationally. Read more about child soldiers:https://www.kutoa.org/themes/this-month
Red Hand Day
Today is Red Hand Day, a day that is dedicated to end the use of child soldiers.
There is an estimated 250,000 child soldiers in the world today, and over one third of those soldiers are girls. Female child soldiers often carry out the same responsibilities as the male child soldiers, but often become subject to sexual violence, forced marriages, and pregnancy.
Child soldiers often do not have access to clean drinking water, food, and health care.
No one deserves to be subjected to violence and trauma, especially children. Every child deserves the right to health care, the right to clean water, and the right to play. We must let children be children.
