Hey all! My name's KWorld, and I'm on a little journey right now. ^-^ Like Tifa on this chocobo.
You see, my creativity has been *dead* for many years. I hadn't been able to write for myself or draw for myself or be creative in any way shape or form -- I was blocked in a way that I'd never been blocked before. It was really disheartening!
But 26 days ago on November 11th, something changed. Couldn't tell you what it was! I just decided "Hey, you know...I think I want to make a sticker. It'd be cool to make a sticker. And maybe I'll set the goal of selling one sticker. That could be fun!" So I sketched this lovely drawing of a buzzed Yor from Spy x Family. And that was all it took. In the same day, I decided to draw Anya as well from the same show.
There was something really refreshing about just sketching something and moving onto the next thing -- no refining, no worrying, just go create another drawing.
I had to push through a TON of negative self talk. What if I can't think of anything to draw? What if my ideas are no good? What if I struggle? What if nobody likes my art?
And that was extremely hard. But I had to keep reminding myself, "When you're drawing, you're having fun. It's for you. Doesn't matter if it's good or bad, put the pencil to the paper and have fun." Somehow that reminder to myself actually worked. And I've been drawing at least one thing every single day (with the exception of weekends so I can rest if I need) for the past 26 days. That's the most I've drawn since I was a teenager, and it's been a long time since I was a teenager.
And I wanted to share what I've been working on with all of you! I figure, if I can make the journey of drawing every day, maybe I can inspire others to do the same. I never thought I could hit a streak like 26 days, and now I don't want to stop. So I'll be posting each new piece of art with you, whether its a teeny little sketch or a full fledged painting (and perhaps some actual stickers!) along with my thoughts. Join me on the trek??
Here's 13 more of the drawings I've done in those 26 days. (You'll probably see some themes lmao. I wanted to share a 14th, but it has a teeny bit of nudity in it so Tumblr said no.) I'll share some more detailed ones I'm proud of in other posts! I've improved quite a lot in 26 days and I bet you would too! Hope you enjoy, and hope to see your work too. :)
