What I Like Most

The thing I like most about my essay is how I was able to relate all of my learning to my future career. I think that was the most important part of this final reflection. I was able to practice and/or learn all four of the major employee skills throughout this course, and it was interesting to be able to see that through my look back on our learning.

I think this is great how we can relate this essay as to how skills we learned will help us in our future careers. This is great how you can use this essay to look back and see how your writing process has continued to develop and change.

What is learning?

Unlike the previous post, I haven't really thought much about what learning is. I would say that learning is something that you can obtain by using your senses. For example, I could just be using my sight and scrolling on TikTok and come across a recipe. I am then learning that recipe. Going off of that, I also think that learning is anything that you can gain knowledge on that you do know about or that you didn't know about. Similar to content, you can learn from anything at any time and all the time. We may not think about it but we are always learning whether it be what foods we do or don't like, how to play a game, or even just the conversations that we have with others. Learning is the result of our actions as we go through each day but it can also be the result after reading or in-taking of the content we view daily.

I really like your definition of learning and your example. It is crazy how much we learn in a day without even realizing it. We are constantly teaching and learning and it is amazing how that all works!

What I like about my writing process

I like how I start my writing process early. I like to work at it in chunks rather than get it all done in one setting. I think this helps with how creativity flows to allow me to come up with new ideas or topics to talk about. I also think working in stages allows you to go back and reread with a fresh and open mind. This also helps with not being overwhelmed and stressed doing writing assignments last minute.

Where I will strengthen my essay

I think I need to strengthen how my writing process has improved. I feel like my writing process has not really changed too much, so I am struggling finding things to talk about. I guess I can look at assignments from the beginning of the semester and compare them to ones at the end of the semester. I feel the only thing that changed in my writing process was how I drafted essays, but it is hard because this class was more flexible with essays and creativity than other classes may be.

What is my writing process?

My writing process is something like a continuous circle where the first step will always be as valid throughout the process, same as the last step. I “research” or gain as much information as possible on the given subject I want to write about, and then put all that information onto a document. Doing this helps me create sentences that flow well throughout points and help me find connections to information I might be able to group up. Once I have the draft down I continue to look for information to support my base. Revising becomes a lot easier when the points you have laid out in your writing are easily listed out.

I really like how you said your writing process is a continuous cycle because that is so true! You are always going to be adding and changing things to create your best work. Revising is so important because mistakes are always missed without it.

Skills: Collaboration

I understand collaboration to be the work of two or more individuals to make positive progress on a piece of work. In web writing, this could be the exchange of feedback on writing between peers who are both trying to grow their web writing skills. Collaboration could also include working together on the same piece of writing and exchanging ideas on how to write and improve the piece.

I think this is a great definition of collaboration. This is a great way to receive fast feedback and generate new ideas. This will also be used throughout our future careers!

What is Content?

Content is such a broad thing as it can be anything you create. Content can be posted on any social media platform whether that is a photo, video, link, etc. Content can also include quizzes, VR, polls, or infographics. This can be for personal use or school use as well. There is different processes to take to create content, but starting with a goal is always the first step. Determining if you want to use this content to inform, persuade, or entertain the viewers of your profile. I really like this image to help show what content is as there are a million ideas flowing into one pen or pencil. Content is endless, it is all about what ideas you have and how you display them.

What is Learning?

Learning is all about taking in new information and connecting it to a million other things. We learn something new everyday no matter how broad or in depth that thing may be. I really enjoy this image because it shows everything your brain takes in and processes every day. Learning can be reading, listening, observing, etc. It comes in all different forms and most of the time we do not even realize we are learning something. Learning is then also passed from person to person as we are always teaching each other something new or learning further about something we already knew. Learning never ends and we will continue to learn as we go into our careers after graduation.

Skills: Creativity

Creativity is unique to each person as people have their own "visions" of ideas. Creativity is about thinking outside of the box and using original ideas and thoughts. Brainstorming is also heavily involved in creativity to allow building off your ideas to make it the best it can be. Creativity is used in almost everything you do as you are either writing, talking, or drawing something of your own. We got to use our creativity a lot in this class through our own content creation and we got to see how other students express their creativity through the sharing of their drafts.

Skills: Communication

I understand communication by being present and understanding. Putting your full attention on whatever communication is happening whether that is face to face, over the phone, etc. Communication can be expressed in so many different ways, but being able to understand is a key part that has to take place. I think using Tumblr for this class is a great example way to use communication. Understanding different ways of writing and understanding each piece of content written by students with responding with your own thoughts.

A tip/ trick I think could help everyone

For content creation it’s important to have consistent hashtags so your followers/ new viewers can easily find your post without searching your account. Some depth to that is while putting your consistent hashtags, add some that relate to the post itself. This can help find even more avenues of connection to your account, but instead of a general hashtag with millions of posts, a niche hashtag will always have less. For example if you’re posting a picture of an upside down cake, include something like #upsidedowncake along with #cooking #cake. That way you’ll be adding to the routes of connection to your account!

I think hashtags are a great way for followers to easily find posts. I found my accounts I looked into used a lot of different hashtags per post to bring in people who are looking for a variety of different things.

How did content creating go?

Is anyone actually creating content? I was thinking of just finding example content that exemplifies my tips and tricks, but half of the short writing options are about creating content. Ik creating content mandatory, or is it just strongly encouraged? Idk I sorta like tiktoking but I have like zero cosplay equipment and zero time to NOT do essays and my other course work.

I am also confused as to whether or not we have to create content. I asked another classmate and they said we had to create content that displays our tips and tricks. I am creating content for each of the accounts I collected data on.

HTWG Feedback

I am confused on the content creation part. Are we actually creating content or are we just giving the creators tips and tricks to help their content bring in more engagement? If we need to actually create content, should there be content for each account we collected data on? I am confused as to what is being expected. I received feedback from Dr.P saying for the guide to not be too long, so I am struggling on how to condense the guide, but still provide all the information needed.

This is my first slide going into detail for each account I collected data on. Should I include my sample content creation on this slide of a separate slide? Are we suppose to be breaking down what the account already offers or just focus on tips and tricks with a sample content creation post for each account? I feel like I am being too broad, but at the same time I do not want to make this super long.

This is my introduction slide to the HTWG. Do you think it is too vague or do you think this is a good overview of information. I just wanted to give an overview of what content is and what these creators will be getting out of this guide. Do you think I should include more detail such as what these accounts typically post and what types of post receive the most engagement or should I keep that information on a separate slide when I go a little more in depth on each account?
