Harold: Does anyone have a spare copy of Dracula that I can borrow to study by any chance?
Kyle: I definitely do! Would you like me to pas by your room on the way up? It has some of my notes, if you don't mind. :)
That’s a very positive way of looking at it, and I’m deciding not to shatter that image you’ve made because it’s the only way you can get through this.Â
Your hip? [sucks his teeth] Ouch man, that sounds like a bitch. I’ve broken many bones but the hips never been one.
I thank you most kindly. [He nods.]
Although it was painful, I think almost breaking up with my...er, girlfriend... was worse. [He shakes his head.] As you can see, Â I feel like I will never see the appeal of alcohol--to both teenagers and adults.
It is a touch. Ah, yes, that might have you landed with the vomiting and babbling messes at the end of the night. It’s good you don’t give in to the peer pressure though.
Yes! I like to remind myself, however, that they're only that way because they had a good time. Though that doesn't get the stink out of my shoes, it's definitely a big help.
The one time I did... Well, can't say it ended well. I think I broke my hip.
I see very little class in young adults dragging themselves around a room with dresses and suit jackets dangling off of them.Â
Kyle, your innocence is astounding. It’ll be vodka because it’s the easiest thing to smuggle in. Sorry kid, no such thing as glamour with alcohol here. Visually though, yes, you have a point. At least for a couple of hours.
I see your point. [He sighs, still smiling.]Â
I suppose this was a death wish--My reluctance to drink has always given me the role of the babysitter in these gatherings.Â
[Harold listens whilst taking a sip, crinkling the skin at the bridge of his nose.] That might happen. I’ve seen it before.
[He laughs.] As horrid as it may seem, I think it would have a hint of classiness.
At least people will be intoxicated over wine and champagne tonight--and our friends will all be dressed to the nines. It will be an... uh, a sophisticated struggle.
That’s a really lovely sentiment you have there, Kyle, but it won’t last long. I hate to be the one to break it to you but you need to know the truth. [raises his glass in turn]
Ah, [Kyle sighs and takes a sip.] That I'm quite sure of--I'm just hoping I wouldn't need to help any of my friends up the dorm stairs tonight.
[Takes a sip of the punch] Wow, still not been spiked yet, this is a strange phenomenon.
I would really prefer it this way. [Grinning, Kyle raises his glass in a toast.]

"Should there be? I mean, I don’t see a parrot, so I wouldn’t have connected anything about you to a pirate." [She pretended to look around for the parrot she’d referenced, but quickly turned back to the guy and smiled widely. She hoped he could see she didn’t mean anything by it- she didn’t intend to offend anyone… most of the time.] "You are very welcome."
[She didn’t hesitate in shaking his hand lightly, her smile never fading] “It’s as equal a pleasure to meet you, Kyle. I’m Roseline Wynters- and since I don’t hate you, you’re free to call me Rose.”
"Quite possibly," Kyle nods, his smile unwavering. "You might've heard of my father--Captain Hook? Let me assure you, however, that I am nothing like him." He was quite the opposite.Â
"Thank you for not hating me, Rose," he smiles, retracting his hand. That was an interesting way of making friends--and although their chatter was light, his anxiety was still pooling at the bottom of his stomach. "How are you doing with the task?"
Are y-you sure? It’s r-really no bother a-at all.
Of course, friend. [Kyle smiles and holds out his hand.] I'm Kyle Hook, at your service.
Might I know what it is you're going to be writing?
-Faye felt the grip around her hands tighten, glancing down at them quickly before bringing her gaze back to him. She tried her best not to frown upon hearing what he had to say.- Kyle.. Don’t think like that. You’re already everything I want.Â
-Faye lights up again upon mentioning her gift, placing a hand over the anchor necklace that was already hanging from her neck. - IÂ loved it! The necklace is beautiful and so were the flowers and the letter. -She gave a small squeeze to his hands.- Thank you so much.
[He laughs, genuinely pleased by her reaction.] It looks very beautiful on you, so there's absolutely no need to thank me. [He gently touches the pendant and whispers.] You are the anchor that keeps my heart in place.
However... that's the first of many. [Kyle grins as he grabs something off the table. Wrapped loosely with a red ribbon is a large tub of gummy bears, gummy butterflies and flowers. He hands it to her eagerly with a glint in his eye.] You have to promiseme  that you'll eat them all... by tonight, alright, Princess?
-Faye grinned, but it slowly diminished as Kyle seemingly had difficulty getting his words out. She grew a bit puzzled and it was showing on her face.- Kyle..Â
-Faye pauses, thinking through how she wanted to answer his question.- No.. Of course not, no. I don’t think so, at least. -She smiled reassuringly, nodding her head.- I’ve never thought of our age difference  as a problem.. Do you think it’s a problem? I mean, I’m not that much older than you.Â
N-No--[Kyle stammered, his hands clutching onto hers like a lifeline.] I just thought that you might've wanted someone stronger, smarter--with a bit more experience in these things, but... [He shook his head with a smile, the earlier frustration melting away.] Nevermind me, I'm being silly. I'm going to be nineteen in a couple of months anyway.
[Still grinning, he kissed her cheek.] How did you like your gift?
"Hm, possibly." [She attempted a look of seriousness, maybe a little pondering as she faked attempting to make up her mind, but Roseline was never good at that sort of stuff. The seriousness, that was.] "Well, you do, really. As first impressions go, the one I’ve got of you is definitely very nice. Not sure if we can add fabulous to it just yet though. Give me some time to mull it over, and I’ll get back to you."
"Nothing... seemingly pirate-y about me?" he grinned. As nervous as he was, he could already tell that this person was quite easy to get a long with if he could joke about his fears so openly. "Thank you for your kind consideration."
Extending a hand, his words began to flow with easy grace. "I'm Kyle Hook, and it's a very great pleasure to meet you."
