Also I dont think it's like completely them sharing thoughts together since Otoya once thinks in regards to Mao "so you where thinking that after all" and sometimes doesnt understand him himself lmao but since Mao was the one who "breathed" life into a totem thus creating Otoya i do think they have the same kind of "prefrence"/what they like, so while Otoya complimenting Nanoka is his own thought, Mao definitely agrees with him everytime lol

while watching the trailer i couldn’t help but notice akane’s portrayal, which is immensely appreciated. ofc og ranma hasn’t unfortunately helped our girl’s reputation, as different project teams tend to adapt to their interpretation, which made me notice the slight difference between the manga and the remake’s adaptation.
i can see why the martial arts tea ceremony arc (chap 56-58) was an anticipated skip but i actually enjoy that arc so im so happy it’s not lol
i need yall to understand the romantic tones mappa is steering towards!!! in the manga ranma’s getting KIDNAPPED, unconsciously swept away on the back of a horse by some maniac (as they tend to be in the ranma world) and akane is quick to notice!
ofc she enters into PROTECTIVE GF mode and goes into action mode. being practical, she utilizes her umbrella as a weapon and strikes it toward the KIDNAPPER!! and although her worry is definitely expressed in the manga, the tone and ambience are altered in a way that made my toes curl!
rumiko is a master at not needing a lot of panels to help make her manga feel immensely animated, and even in this singular panel of akane throwing the umbrella, we can sense akane’s worry as she’s shouting for them to STOP…but…
…will you look at this animation?? LOOK at akane’s face, determination on her face! the speed and force warped with just the mere stretch of her throw helps exhibit the potential that has unfortunately been underplayed and ignored. we’ve been shown throughout the manga just how STRONG and WILLING akane is and wants to be!!
in the manga, when the matcha scoop got shot towards akane, she seems surprised, definitely not expecting that. his strike was most definitely intense, considering we see the way the umbrella was sliced in two. it then pins akane’s hood to the (i’m assuming cement) post, displaying her shocked reaction, naturally.
compared to the remake’s adaptation!!! LOOK! we see the initial shock, the reaction, and sudden determination to get her fiancé back form that weirdo trying to “whisk” ranma away.
also saw someone mention the difference in her hood getting pinned in the manga compared to not in the remake, so i’m curious about that choice, too..
