Okay, I'm trying not to be a jerk to anime-only fans but some of the comments I've seen on other sites are honestly making me wonder if some of these people have even heard of the concept of a murder mystery.

Like Its actually wild how many anime-onlys keep saying that nothing's happening/the plot isn't moving when MAO is one of the few (if not only) Rumiko's work where the plot constantly moves (to the point id even welcome a bit more filler) just because every episode isnt filled with plot twists after plot twists with constant action doesnt mean things arent moving

if we agree Otoya is basically a mini Mao in his purest form and everything he says, Mao thinks, then:

this is so cute bc Mao can’t believe he’s never complimented Nanoka before this moment. But that’s bc Otoya is always doing it, but Mao is thinking it and probably felt like he was telling her when it was Otoya 😭😭😭

Everytime we hear his thoughts around Nanoka he's always thinking about her (mostly how cute she is) like at this point im convinced he's complimenting/praising her in his head 24/7 😭😭

Also I dont think it's like completely them sharing thoughts together since Otoya once thinks in regards to Mao "so you where thinking that after all" and sometimes doesnt understand him himself lmao but since Mao was the one who "breathed" life into a totem thus creating Otoya i do think they have the same kind of "prefrence"/what they like, so while Otoya complimenting Nanoka is his own thought, Mao definitely agrees with him everytime lol

I was kind of worried when it was announced that the second ED was gonna be by Yurako's VA, that they would pull some kind of love triangle crap (putting Nanoka and Yurako on the same level) but i was pleasantly suprised, not only are the visuals beautiful(as well as music) but they solely focus on Yurako, her backstory and love for Mao

And the one time that Nanoka DOES appear? Its in the presence of Mao in the most romantic "pulls closer to self" way imaginable which most likely came from Yurako's own mind (given that we see her cry before this) but it still solidifies one thing that even she herself knows deep down: there is no competition and no one else for Mao other than Nanoka

Since it's technically a poison, I personally like to think his own poison blood would cancel it out the effects... but lots of shows like to ignore that kind of detail because it's funnier if someone gets drunk lol

Another anime addition

In the anime Mao softly smiles thinking about Nanoka (and her safety)

While he doesnt do that in the manga

Also Mao's soft smile that he gets thinking about Nanoka inbetween scenes of her agonizing over him and Sana and how "he cant forget her"?👌🏼💖

With what they showed us in the trailer i really didn't have high expectations for the blood transfusion scene but my god did they deliver and exceed those expectations

Like the way they expanded this scene?? Nanoka's blood flowing into Mao and turning into light?? Already had me going "they get it🙂‍↕️" bc anything that paints Nanoka as being Mao's light is great in my book

And then the added POVs??? The way Mao looks at Nanoka? And also before this the first thing he says after waking up is Nanoka's name? (which wasn't in the manga) And plus him smiling at Nanoka for the first time in the beginning of the episode? She's already his light he just hasnt realised it yet🤧🤧

And to top it all of Nanoka getting closer to Mao? Had me actually thinking they were gonna kiss (and I've read the manga like thousand times😭) and the cherry on top was Nanoka passing out on top of Mao🥹 (AND THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER THE WHOLE TIME AAAA)

Also another anime addition that i loved was how Otoya called out to Nanoka when she passed out🥹 AND SO WORRIED TOO😭 their friendship means so much to me❤️
