I’m not sure where to post this so i’m going to put it here.

I have been homeless for over 6 months, as of a couple days ago.

A year ago, I was counting on a housing voucher in order to afford housing, anywhere, (and because of my age, disability and limited resources it was the only viable option.)

After trump was elected this year, (2026) he paused the housing vouchers, effectively securing my homelessness 3 months before my 20th birthday.

Since I had to leave my apartment, (I couldn’t afford rent, they started raising it for no reason because that’s legal here,) I have been staying in respite shelters. I’m not on the street, (and I am incredibly lucky for that, don’t get me wrong, there was recently a blizzard and I probably wouldn’t have survived if I had been stuck on the streets during it,) but it still fucking sucks.

So, to the people saying that what trump is doing is helping people, I am tangible proof that you are wrong.

I am 20 years old, i’m a disabled woman of color, and i’m a person who’s fucking homeless because a multi-billionaire/convicted r@pist/(alleged) p3do/orange asshole, decided to paused the housing vouchers.

I am not the only one who was effected by this, far from it, and in my time here i’ve come to discover that if they were still in fact giving out housing vouchers for those in need of them, these respite units would be much less cramped.

Trump doesn’t care what happens to us.

My situation is a direct result of the system’s failure, and the calculated hateful actions trump has been taking to keep people of color in poverty.
