so, entrapdak in minecraft.
i have a few too many thoughts, but for this post, we’re just going to imagine them as existing in the world of the game; not playing it on a computer, but rather “living” it. (all game mechanics like respawning still apply, though)
- When it comes to first starting their world, Entrapta is off punching trees within seconds while Hordak is a little slower on the uptake. He’d rather get his bearings first, and explore their surroundings in search of resources
- Even though they dedicate themselves to different tasks, by the end of day 1, they have enough beds for the two of them and maybe even a roof over their heads. A little log-and-plank starter house would be cozy to anyone, but they make it feel like a home even with their minimal belongings (the essentials- crafting table/furnace/chest- stacked neatly in a corner, a purple and black dyed bed placed side by side, and a small carpet or painting to liven up the place)
- As time goes on, Entrapta continues to gather resources by hand while Hordak ventures further on his explorations, picking up loot from structures and villages as he goes. Their first diamond would either come from a strip mine or a loot chest, and go towards making an enchanting table
- Hordak believes in trying to operate as efficiently as possible, and is mildly obsessed with all of the automatic farming opportunities that redstone provides. However, he also finds the monotony of boring manual tasks to be calming, at times, and will happily disappear into the mines to destress and contribute to their ever-growing resource hoard
- Speaking of the inevitable hoard, Hordak would rather die than let his storage get disorganized. The hoard is very real, and they wind up with more items than two players could ever reasonably need, but he’d be damned if they couldn’t all be easily found in labeled chests at a moment’s notice
- At one point, Entrapta wanders into a village and immediately makes friends with the local populace by offering them some emeralds she’s mined. Hordak, mortified, makes a mental note to build his iron farm elsewhere in the world
- The more automatic farms get constructed, the more that area starts to look reminiscent of the Fright Zone. Towers, tunnels, tubes, and organized chaos come together to form Hordak’s proudest work; the slow but sure industrialization that will allow them to create things well beyond the realm of possibility for the average survival world
- High on the list of absurd builds to make would be a world-eating flying machine. If you’ve never seen one, link will be in the replies (which I implore you to look at if only for the resulting mental image of Hordak trying to manually construct it. It’s a monstrosity)
- Entrapta, meanwhile, sets her sights on their living arrangements, eventually upgrading their log cabin into more of a fortress. By that point, the extra space is more than welcome, since they’re likely sharing it with multiple pets each- Entrapta is unable to help herself with every cat she sees, and Hordak slowly builds up a respectable collection of birds
- I uhh wanted to add a bunch about them actually completing the game and going through the nether/end, but that’ll probably be for another post!
