Quing and Queen of Hometown

In the last panel, both of their ballots have Noelle voted as queen and for the king slot, the word "king" is scribbled out and replaced with "quing", with Kris's name under it. Headcanon brain dump

Blake knows wilderness survival, mostly because of the white fang partially there’s only so many activities you can do with your kid in the middle of the wilderness that doesn’t involve the wilderness. Also I head canon Kali as being the one to teach Blake a lot of the basic stuff, cause Ghira was busy with politics and running the white fang and in the dc comics we see them go fishing together. Like spear fishing, fighting that fish in its own territory. Blake likes to get hands on, she knows rod and tackle but definitely prefers using her hands. Which leads to my main headcanon, Blake knows how to go catfish noodling.

Like Kali deciding that 7 year old Blake is good enough at ‘regular’ fishing to try to go for the catfish. Tells Ghira they are going fishing and come back a few hours later with a catfish half the size of Blake. Ghira prepares it and is mid bite like an hour later when he realizes what his did. “You didn’t” “thank Blake for the delicious dinner dear” “Kali-“ I 100% see Kali and just being the parent that is chill and does crazy things with you as a kid. Ghira seems more protective and down to earth and not ‘teach your kid to use their limbs as fish bait’ style parent.

Kid Blake would play with the other kids in the white fang and chase each other up trees and they would be to afraid to come down while Blake’s standing at the bottom arms crossed “then why’d you follow me up” she says having jumped down like 10 feet just moments before. Kid Blake was a menace not headcanon 100% true don’t uh ask for source cause I don’t need to provide one.

Blake also knows how to surf, idk if like she learned it before like in menagerie when she was younger or if Sun wanted to learn it but Blake knows how to surf and is good at it.

In general just very good at wilderness survival knows the right berries to eat and mushrooms to pick. Knows and respects Mother Nature. Definitely had to use a shodowclone at least once to quickly get to one of her friends and slap their hand away from something dangerous. Also addition headcanon for Jaune. He tried to pick some mushrooms that he had learned was a tasty treat from his time in remnants equivalent to Boy Scouts only for Nora who has actually spent quite some time outside and knows exactly what is good to eat and not to slap him on the back of the head as he’s talking about his foraging badge. He earned while kneeled down trying to pick vales second most dangerous mushroom

Additional but not as fun headcanon is that Qrow took Ruby and Yang fishing exactly 3 times. The first 2 times ended with Qrow getting the hook stuck in himself the last time ended with Yang getting the hook stuck in Ruby. Qrow never took them again because it was fine if he got hurt but he never wanted to put them in danger doing something that was meant to be fun and Yang swore off fishing after that. It wasn’t her fault but she hurt her sister and she’s not getting over that anytime soon. Also plus since she probably did most of the houses shopping they probably stopped having fish, no tuna or sushi or baked catfish. Not until beacon at least.

Plus another one, Blake doesn’t like fish because cat Faunus Blake likes fish because its something she could get prepare and share with the people she loves. There was a feeling of accomplishment in being able to get a fish, feeling like she was able to care for others in that little way even if she couldn’t help them more. Now obviously they aren’t really in a position where food needs to be caught but the fish is still a comfort food of more innocent days.

I think Blake’s love language or way of showing care is split between words and actions, which I know are kinda the opposite. But I feel like Blake can be very well spoken and at the same wants to show affection by being able to provide for those she loves. Maybe because she spent years in a relationship where her partner made her feel like she wasn’t enough. Sometimes she feels words aren’t enough and she has to prove it. I’m not just going to say I’ll stay but I’m going to prove it

Rosebird illustration I did for @yuriolympics Main Round 1! Based on the prompt ‘Revival’, this is my creative take on Raven’s semblance and how she might’ve tried (and failed) to reach Summer through it after her death. Hopefully the bg comes across as comic panels with Raven’s portal breaking through to reach Summer!
