how did bbc merlin take the already tragic story of king arthur and make it even more tragic. no nevermind I know how they banned magic made merlin a twink servant to a heart-of-gold jock with daddy issues then made that jock’s worst enemies deeply sympathetic children lashing out against persecution and abuse and then as a final touch they had the twink wizard make every single bad decision as he tried to save his king from the prophecy but the bad decisions were ultimately made in vain because the jock died anyway and even worse than that the jock didn’t even fulfill the prophecy to bring magic back to his kingdom in the end he just died. the real question is why they would fucking do that.
