BEING WEALTHY GETS YOU THINGS. It opens a great many doors as it turns out. Though hardly any of it is truly his wealth, he admits. No, he’s beyond embezzling government funds but a great deal less so when it comes to the profits of his shop and the occasional turned coin from Frey. What she didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her. Of course, he wonders if she’ll begin to notice the hundreds of gold and silver pieces disappear without a trace.
It’s not a concern of his. Not tonight. ( Though, he lives in fear when morning comes and she likely has to fetch him from the tavern or sends Forte to do so. )
No, tonight: he plays the part of the reveler, the guest of a town unknowing of him. He calls himself a prince, though he knows if precious little of the residents truly believe him. He hardly carries about him the air of the nobility, though he often tries to explain why to little avail. He is eighteen, an amnesiatic nobody — is it so wrong to indulge himself every so often?
Apparently, it is. He might be of age to do anything else he wants, but apparently drinking is off the table. Shame he got his grubby fairy hands on a bottle of something hard, something bitter. Even a greater shame he’s done it multiple times now, drinks paid for by either himself or by the others who knew a lad down on his luck when they saw one. ( Or chances being it was their feeble attempt at making a pass at him, to which he’d happily decline. )
So, when he ends up on a table, swinging his shirt over his head and half-screaming profanities at the top of his lungs, he can’t say he’s particularly appalled by the result of the night. Only that he’s certain he’s going to catch a cold and that his eyes are swimming. He is, however, surprised that once he sits down again after having fallen off said table that someone calls him beautiful.
“Tell me something I don’t already know,” is his only reply.
Staggering, the drifter raises a finger to point towards the blonde. Admittedly, it took a lot of concentration for Dante to keep himself from wobbling about. He rests part of his body on the bar for support.
You would think the person’s words would had stopped the man while he’s ahead and shot him down, but- it didn’t. In fact, Dante was the kind of man to keep on going. Even when it was already a dead horse. (You shouldn’t beat a dead horse, Dante.) But, this wasn’t a situation that had things dead...yet.
“Of course ya already know that you’re beautiful, biscuit.” Their hair reminded them of something tasty, and would bode well with butter and clam chowder. Man, he was hungry already. Dante always had a tendency to give everyone a nickname, it was kind of his thing. Also it made it easier for the man to remember them. Although...biscuit wasn’t probably the best name for him to give to impress anybody.
But aren’t biscuits cute? Fluffy, fresh, flaky...buttery goodness.
Dante downs another drink. This was probably not the best idea.
“Man I’m hungry- wanna share an appetizer with me?” More like, want to pay for my food eventually when I leave the bar, cutie?
Awful.
