The thing about this is I don't get why I'm doing it

So one time when we went here with my mom, she told the man working that shift that he had the voice of a radio star. He wasn't a young man, and seemed to be really flattered by it

I know you can't see the middle school from here, but this stretch of road is seared into my mind.

I keep tagging things as 2000s nostalgia because I grew up here and passed through on a roadtrip. Idyllic and pretty right? Well the nice thing is that the vast majority of the town didn't change

Walking back home in middle school took me literally an hour

Who knows the name of this plant? I love the purple blossoms so much

Another snippet from my childhood walk home, this time in comfort and AC. When you look at it, would you ever know this is in California?

I will always hate this stupid road in a way that only my sisters will understand. Have you ever been violently mad at having to walk home. It looks sorta magical without the car there, but it feels like a tunnel you'll never see the end of. And when it got 110. It was awful

Now this feels like going to school. I remember being a kid in my sisters car, taking the back bench of the van.

When I look at you I feel like a little kid driving down the road in my sister's car to go to the market.

I remember when this house was getting remodeled. For YEARS. Always so beautiful, what I would have given to get a chance to go inside. You'll always be iconic to me.

There's so many orange trees. Big tall eucalyptus in the distance. Have you ever cut across an orchard that hasn't been picked and stepped in orange. and you're wearing sandals.

It's been a long time since the old van went out of commission.
