And Graydon on the Shattered Sea is like hello weird mudmander creature if you don’t eat me we will be friends for life and I will feed you and name you after one of my characters and care for you and I will set you free even at the risk of the rest of us wandering the mudflats till we go insane and die because I can see you wasting away and it makes me sad. because you can’t tell me that Graydon looks at this wild creature chained to a sleigh for the gain of others and doesn’t find that the reflection is a painful thing. And the longer they travel the starker the comparison. He, who was hurt and in pain and his father used him, tapped his guilt and used him for his own gain and cared not a thing for his safety or health, as he sent him across vast distances on a journey he didn’t choose. And while the journey has in fact been good for him and he’s grown and has friends and love and support now and is really coming into his own, flowering and extending that energy outward, he remembers how it felt to be trapped and used. And he watches Kenneth fade, become more and more a shadow each day, and recalls the numb listless depression that once dogged his own steps, and he can’t bare it. Quite aside from the fact I believe that the Shattered Sea is a trial you have to walk on your own two feet, releasing Kenneth is an important step in his character arc, the final sundering of his fathers chains. Initiative, determination, compassion, the things that define him, that he has awoken and built across the quest. He had to set him free; he has to set himself free

Still thinking about Jade just casually stepping in front of Graydon when he heads towards Kit after being volunteered for the quest. A knight preventing the princesses’ own betrothed from approaching her in front of the whole court???? I will never not be insane about this like surely Jade has to know like the message that carried right. and she sent it in front of the whole court like just the way it’s second nature for her, not just as a friend but as a dedicated and devoted knight, to protect her, put herself between her princess and anything and anyone. And then also the way she moves up a step?? Like she doesn’t just position herself between Kit and Graydon she positions herself higher than the prince of Galladoorn in order to do so. Like it might not have been a jealousy motivated move it might just have been protection sure but that choice screams: mine. my charge. my princess. mine to protect. Jade honey if I was a courtier in this room here I’d have gasped outright. Like I get it’s Tir Asleen’s court Tir Asleen’s Princess a Tir Asleen knight but seriously. that was bold af and I love it
What I love about this moment is that it happens with Jade exhausted and in her pajamas, after she fought and nearly died to save her princess.
And then she sees this prince, this boy betrothed to the love of her life, who hid and watched the battle from a tower, who says he would let Kit go on a dangerous quest on her own, who has to be badgered into going, and she says, no, you are not worthy. I love her more than you ever could.
Okay but imagine it from the POV of the little old ladies in the court, the ones who remember a certain Princess Sorcha and a certain Madmartigen. They’ve been watching Jade and Kit for the last couple years, raising their eyebrows at each other. And then Jade steps up on this night, and Edna learns over to Morgana and says “you owe me $20”.
Boorman: So. The Crone, huh.
Arik: Yeah.
Boorman: How hot was she?
Arik: Dude, so hot.
Boorman: How long did you hold out?
Arik: It felt like forever but I think it was only an episode and a half.
Boorman: (holds out a fist)
Arik: (bumps it)

I think that Madmartigan was Boorman’s bisexual awakening. Serious Pining. Long Looks. And then of course Soul Crushing Guilt when Boorman failed him as a squire.
I’m not sure anything ever happened? Like I go back and forth. Mads and Sorcha’s romance in the OG movie is like… not any kind of basis for a marriage and I get the feeling from Sorcha’s opening narration — “what can I say I was young” — that they were not ever very happy.
There is also the way Boorman refers to Madmartigen as his partner, that speaks of such closeness, such intimacy.
It was prolly Unrequited Love but we all know how strong that can be.
I would kinda love for Arik to pick up on this whole subtext and actually be the one to ask Boorman about it, because I think Boorman could lie to Kit or anyone else. But Arik looks so much like Mads, I think Boorman might see it as his opportunity to finally unburden himself.

Graydon needs to be saved with a kiss or something, and Elora isn't there, and obviously, the other two girls aren't gonna do it. So Boorman roles up his sleeves and is like, "Let me show yall how it's done," and really puts his all into it. Giving the most passionate kiss of Graydon's life.
And it works! Cause Willow is about found family, and Boorman really does love Graydon. Even if not romantically.
So Boorman kisses Graydon, and he wakes up to the kiss. And when they part, Gray sits up and touches his lips for a moment before mumbling, "Huh, im gonna have to unpack that later," and then quickly gets up to join the fight or whatever.
Id just love to have a scene where they kiss. For any context. And Graydon realizes he isn't as straight as he thought he was.
Possible Ship names: Thraydon, Graxus, Hasman, Boostur, Comedic Duo, or the Pretty Bois. I like Thraydon or the Pretty Bois

I wanna see Willow just go full camp. I’m talking body swap episode (you know you wanna see Willow and Elora swapped), musical episode (imagine the costumes and the dancing!), and most of all, I wanna see time travel, because I just really wanna see Boorman with baby Elora. Or really any baby. Can we just give him a baby please?

I wonder what the end goal with the Wyrm would’ve been. Like, Jade’s all shouldn’t we go back there and try and kill him and the gang at large is like nah that’s a job for another day but if he is immortal, the way the Crone claims him to be, “he’s eternal, bitch” can they even kill him? Should they? Like I know he’s evil and all, but it would’ve been real interesting if, say, he was a necessary part of the ecosystem or to that effect. Like, the magic is the bloodstream of the universe and the Wyrm feeds upon it and yeah okay it sounds bad but like maybe it’s necessary for balance. I don’t know I just have so many questions I’m chomping and it’s worse given that we may never know the answers
that's kind of what i'm thinking. i don't think you can entirely kill something like that, just beat it back. weaken it. or maybe elora's his flipside and they both have to die in order for one of them to die?

The willow gang wants to kill the Wyrm without Elora dying, if they can manage it, but what if the conclusion reached is that they both have to live? They are both eternal and necessary for the balance of the world, the light and the dark
Okay so the bloodstream comment makes me wonder — what if the wyrm is an immune response? Like instead of being a virus that is trying to destroy magic, what if it is trying to force it back into balance, but like an autoimmune disease, is accidentally attacking what it is supposed to protect?
We know magic is all out of balance top side. Bavmorda wanted it all and so she was trying to destroy anyone else who might have some. And Sorcha, so fucking scared of magic, was trying to do the same thing by keeping Elora from her destiny.
Maybe the Wyrm can only be “defeated” once the magic is flowing freely through the land again.
You star as Boorman in the Disney+ series “Willow.” What are some references that helped build the character to fit the series? Boorman, is in essence, a classic 'rogue with a heart gold' archetype. When the first audition pages / casting breakdown came in, he was described as the "Han Solo/Jack Sparrow of the group." Immediately millions of references flooded my mind amongst those two. Inego Montoya from “Princess Bride” and some of the cutting, stoic sarcasm of “Hellboy” in the comics. Having grown up on 90s escapism I knew exactly what I was going to do and what he needed to be. Not much changed from those first tapes. But with the showrunner Jon Kasdan and the other head creatives, we managed to make Boorman more 3-dimensional. Toshiro Mifune as Kikuchiyo in “Seven Samurai” was also a huge physical reference. He has this messy and dirty caged tiger-esq gait that Jon and I wanted to channel.
