Pride month Day27
Kit & Jade Willow (2022–2023)
Imagine if Jon's grandmother was a super devout Hindu so he grew up celebrating Diwali and learning the whole story behind it and he tells it to Martin one day, just like offhand, cause he was raised Hindu but he's not especially religious but one day he comes home on Diwali to see the house COVERED in (electric) candles (they don't trust themselves with open fire) and Martin's like, "the idea of lighting the path home to our loved ones, drawing them out of the dark, kinda reminded me of our story, us both being each others light" and they both cry, so much.
They were like what if we give the hero of the previous story imposter syndrome so bad he nearly undermines his credibility to his new apprentice (otherwise known as his third child) because while under the influence of magic plums he accidentally (totally on purpose while trying to reassure the other youngster that has come under his wing) confides out that he’s actually terrified people are gonna find him out as a fraud, when he has not only admitted that he can do super rare powerful magic) glimpsing the future through visions), he also defeated the previous big bad most powerful sorcerer to ever live through the power of friendship and sheer wits. Legit magic tricks the all powerful dictator into fatally shooting herself in the foot because he’s just that inventive and creative. And then after that he’s like. Hmm maybe the many many cases of me succeeding or being good at a thing are all just flukes. Yes that makes sense. Imposter syndrome king who prepares the chosen one to kick no-honestly-this-is-the-harbinger-we’re-sure-of-it-this-time’s butt. Oh and defeats a whole army of grunts single-handedly offscreen in a b plot because he just has things that covered. That guy still struggles with believing in himself. Honestly one of the most relatable issues in the show
I interrupt my Coffee in Noir series because though I did my favourite movies of 2023, I wanted to talk the TV scene from last year which af
I wrote a bunch of words about what's come to be my favourite TV scene I saw last year
(which is saying . . . a lot. I watch so much TV you guys)
WILLOW (2022-present)
I just realized that each of these titles fit what the relationship is between the Questie and Elora.
Elora Danan - She was always Elora to Willow.
Last Blood of Kymeria - Boorman immediately knows she’s important because of his quest for the Kymerian Cuirass.
Future Empress - Graydon is the Future Emperor, to be married to her.
High Priestess - Jade’s loyalty is basically religious.
Seprum Sorceress of the Nine Realms - Kit is suspicious because her grandmother was also a powerful sorceress who became evil.
Him and his camera! What a cutie.

Showrunner Jonathan Kasdan breaks down season 1 of 'Willow' and its finale; plus, what he'd like to see in season 2.
great interview, definitely some info i haven't seen anywhere else... ----- ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: I don't think you could end the show without losing someone, but how did you decide it would be Graydon as opposed to Airk, Boorman, or anyone else who's life was in imminent danger?
JONATHAN KASDAN: There was some conversation about that. But we all felt that there was something beautifully tragic about Graydon, and as a character, he is our Dark Prince. We always called him the Dark Prince in our construction of the show. One of the questions we always had and hoped to keep alive to some extent throughout the season was, "Is he good or is he evil?" As the show progressed, he's pretty definitively good. His devotion to Elora was so pure, and the way he played those scenes was so lovely and tender. It felt like the thing that would most impel Elora into this final stage of her development was the loss of this completely devoted person. As is often the case with these decisions, and they're sometimes unpopular, sometimes you want the most devastating possible thing. And for her, he felt like that.
Now that Airk has come back to himself, is there any chance he and Elora would reconnect? Or is her heart fully with Graydon at this point?
She's not with either of them, frankly, at the moment. She's intent on taking a little break from the dating world entirely, and we'll see how she does with that. But conversely, Airk is not at all over her. In fact, she's only more attractive to him now that she's empress of the world and the most powerful sorcerer ever and has come into her power so fully. But I definitely think the bloom is off the rose for Elora.
You can be a boy princess and a girl prince you know. I won’t elaborate but you get it.
