Top 3 things people love insisting they don't have despite it being impossible
Pronouns
An accent
Bias
The weird thing about being unemployed is that the main reason I can't enjoy it is shame and guilt. Like no barbara, I'm not enjoying myself on your tax dollars, I'm crying everyday because I bring shame to my family, lol
Today is just one of those days where I need to tip my imaginary hat to niqabis in the west cuz I wish girl but I'm not as brave as you
Sometimes I wonder what the other people who frequent the various veiling and modesty tags I use think of my posts when they see them. Whenever I go through there it’s like 98% stuff that is either not particularly interesting to me, something I explicitly disagree with, or statements vague enough to seem alright but that come from some obscured purity culture stuff that I don’t vibe with. Then there’s me being vehemently leftist and I can’t help but wonder what goes through peoples minds.
Ah, I finally found a blog I vibe with and clearly, I'm not alone in feeling alone
Veiling in a western country is interesting, because what do you even mean I'm about to be the only covered woman at a party with fifty people? After moving to the city I completely forgot what it feels like in the village
when i was a kid i decided that killing people was bad therefore war was bad therefore the military was evil. and adults would tell me it's more nuanced than that and i would understand when i grew up. well i'm a grown up now and idk i still think that killing people is bad and war is bad and the military is evil
“If you dress immodestly you can’t complain about the men you attract”
Well I dress modestly and I’m still attracting whack men. Maybe it’s because people mistreat people they perceive as women because they perceive them as women instead of mistreating clothes themselves.
god's weakest soldier is scrolling tumblr instead of being productive or participating in any of their hobbies
Modest fashion not for religious reasons but for sensory friendliness, ease of movement, comfort, confidence, femininity, body positivity, self empowerment, and "you can't touch AND you can't look, WHY you wanna perceive me anyway!"
...and surviving this culture is not a flex
The truth is, the older people at that party don't believe your fake age. They only need to hear it for plausible deniability. No 25yo confuses 12yo with a 21yo, they simply don't care that you're 12.
