Yes As someone who has loved the HP franchise for almost 15 years, I went through this exact crisis around Cursed child and then again with JK Rowling's transphobia becoming publicly known. There is no right or wrong way to be a fan. This goes for everything but: You do not need to consume or even like every form of media related to something you enjoy to be a fan. You don't have to actively create or participate in fandom culture to be a fan. You don't have to buy things relating to something you enjoy. You can never talk bout Harry Potter again and still be a fan. Daniel, Rupert and Emma will always be my Harry, Ron and Hermione. I know I wont like the new series (Both due to bias and the fact it reeks of corporate cash grab, both tainting my view of it) and I don't want to give JK Rowling any more attention or profit so I wont be watching. That does not erase years of enjoyment in the series. I learned after Cursed Child I don't need to know or enjoy everything to be a fan. I learned after everything came out about JK that I don't need to actively be involved or consume things to be a fan. Capitalism and rampant consumerism has spoiled fan culture. Enjoy what you want and don't let anyone make you feel bad for enjoying or not enjoying specific things in the things you enjoy.

YES the Thunderbolts have a fantastic team as family dynamic, yes they are living in Avengers tower, yes history is repeating itself and 2012 tower fics are so back. BUT!

instead of "Alexei eating poptarts" or "Yelena in the vents", we must come up with new headcanons and make history

Bob always does normal domestic chores, often getting in the way of important missions and spy business. "All I'm saying is Bucky is our best sniper" "It would be a much quieter assassination if I just slipped into the condo and cut his—" "Hey sorry guys, anyone have laundry? I'm doing a load"

Yelena and her guinea pig always eat meals together at the dining table. Everyone has their Chinese food or barbeque, meanwhile the rodent is loudly munching on a salad right beside them

Bucky is the mom and always keeps them on track. "Ava you have a dentist appointment in the morning, and bring Bob so they can add him to the insurance. Lena how was therapy? Alexei, I said no vodka until dinner"

Alexei is always coming up with new promotional ideas for the team. Cartoon tv show, cereal, toothpaste flavour...every day he thinks he's come up with the next big thing. Whenever they actually get put into production (Wheaties) he collects and saves it, and won't let anyone use a different product. (He threw out Yelena's frosted flakes and it took both Bucky and John to get her to stop attacking him)

Ava likes to phase and sneak attack her teammates at random. She claims it's for training but really she just thinks it's funny hearing them scream

John gets blamed for everything, even if it isn't his fault. Especially if it isn't his fault: "who ate the last bagel?" "John." "Where's my hair straightener?" "John had it." "Whose turn is it to unload the dishwasher?" "Johnnnn"

The guinea pig munching awyay on salad is something I can not unsee now. (Of course Yelena keeps the little thing.)

And also (a little weird but also) completely logical that Bucky is the most stable one in the Thunderbolts. He’s been in the “I’ll handle it” role since the 1930s. He did it with Steve back when Steve was too physically weak to take care of himself — making sure he ate, scrounging up medicine, watching Steve's limits, being responsible long before anyone ever asked him to be. (This is accepted headcanon in fandom, right?)

So of course Bucky slides into the mom role now. Not because he wants to, but because he’s always done it. Old habits, war trauma, and caretaking instincts don’t just disappear.

Bucky Barnes checking if everyone’s eaten and went to therapy feels less like a joke and more like history repeating itself — just this time with people who are just as broken as he is. A found family where he doesn't feel like he's just tagging along with Steve but just as important as the others.
