Standing On My Own Feet: Help a Gaza Father Earn an Income

Please watch my video until the end. It tells my story better than words ever can—who I was before the war, what happened to my family, and why I am asking for your help today.

My name is Mohammed Matar, a father of two beautiful children, Esraa and Sohaib. I also care for my elderly parents, my sisters, and their children. Like thousands of families in Gaza, the war changed every part of our lives.

When I started this campaign on November 10, 2024, my only goal was simple: to keep my family alive.

Thanks to your generous contributions, $11,140 has been raised as of today, July 9, 2026. Every dollar was used transparently for food, clean water, medicine, and other basic necessities that helped my family survive during the hardest days of our lives.

Today, I am asking for something different.

I don't want to depend on donations forever. I want the chance to work again.

Before the war, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science and worked in laboratories and hospitals. The war took away our home, my job, and everything we had built.

Today, work opportunities in Gaza are almost nonexistent. After thinking carefully about the few opportunities still available, I found one realistic way to support my family again.

My dream is to buy an electric motorcycle and start a small delivery business. It may seem like a simple vehicle, but for my family it represents something much bigger.

It means I can earn an honest income.

It means I can buy food for my children with the money I earn through my own work.

It means my children can see their father standing on his own feet again instead of waiting for aid.

Electric bicycle prices in Gaza now cost between 16,000 and 25,000 ILS (approximately $5,338 - $8,344 USD). To see the current market prices yourself, please check this TikTok video.

Once I reach this goal, I will document every step—from purchasing the motorcycle to starting work—and I will continue sharing updates with everyone who supported us.

Unsure if this is considered a plot hole but like Felix should’ve 100% still been arrested right??? As he told the police and Jack and Rose that he crashed the car while drunk and the kids were missing when he woke up. At the very least he would’ve been faced with child endangerment and driving under the influence. Along with tampering with evidence as authorities recovered Molly’s backpack from the lake. S’ brother, L, is returning home for a week to arrange paperwork for their mother. Once he leaves, I will remove this fundraiser for S and her brother’s safety. Thank you so, so much.

Hello everyone, I am posting this on behalf of my three cousins, who are requesting mutual aid from the people online in more fortunate circumstances. They are three immigrant workers from the global south and medical refugees in a country in West Asia. Currently, my cousin S is fighting stage 4 breast cancer, and due to a deeply upsetting and misogynistic situation, she, alongside her brother and sister, all working class, were forced out of the home they were staying at. 

My aunt recently had the opportunity to come and help S with her illness; Unfortunately, while there, she suffered two heart attacks. I am gathering funds to support S in three ways. First is to extend our aunt's visa as she is in no condition to return home. Second is to alleviate their food and housing insecurity, as their combined income is eaten away by S’ cancer treatments and rent. Third is to pad their emergency funds, as S’ chemotherapy is unavailable in our home country and only available in where they are currently immigrated to.  Again, we are so grateful beyond words for all the help!!

I’m fine with interpretations, not cannon ones as Scott confirmed he isn’t, of William being a predator. Depiction isn’t endorsement.
