That was as close enough to permission to beat the snot out of people as she was ever going to get. And it was from the President herself, at that. Ace brightened almost immediately.

“Yeah, yeah. I got it.” She leaned in close, lowering her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “If you hear anything about a busted nose or three, it wasn’t me, all right? You didn’t hear anything.” She gave Trey a huge, exaggerated wink. So what if Trey didn’t mean for her to just pick a fight the second someone spoke to her wrong? That’s what she heard (wanted to hear, rather), and that’s what she was going to do.

Although Ace had misinterpreted her advice, seemingly on purpose, Trey couldn’t help but chuckle at Ace’s response. In a way, it unfortunately reminded her of Leela.

“Well then, I’ll be sure to turn a death ear to any...complaints I may hear about you, as long as the injured Timelords aren’t any one all that valuable to me.”
