A lot of people like to say different things on the topic of mindset blockage/issues when it comes to reality shifting, so I’m going to be clearing up misconceptions, and give helpful tips based off of my own personal experience.
^Shifting method at the end
sorry if it’s confusing im just spewing my thoughts
» “You have to completely clear your doubts."
The mind is always going to have doubts, no matter what you’re doing. This is a fact of the human condition, and it’s going to be near impossible if you especially have anxiety disorders.
You also don’t need to be in a completely stress free state of mine. It might help if these stressers are removed, but it’s not a core problem, and it’s not a hard wall that will prevent you point blank.
See these doubts, acknowledge their existence, and move forward. Don’t react to these, give them any power over your state of being, etc. Their existence doesn’t stop your shifting process unless you full stop and engage with them with emotional investment.
Doubts will feel something like this, ‘what if I don’t shift?’ or ‘what if it’s not real?’ or even ‘what if i’m not using a good method?’ these are common and completely natural. What you’re doing wrong by trying to remove these, an inevitable occurrence, is giving them importance over your ability.
What you should be focusing are expectations. Expectations will feel something like ‘i have to shift tonight’, ‘i have to do it or i’ve failed’, and ‘i should feel something happening by now’
Expectations are going to create a sort of tension and urgency in your mind, and then anxiety. This is going to make your deep immersion and eventual shift extremely difficult and hard block you. When you shift, you’re going to want zero expectation about anything happening. I like to repeat, ‘I’m just an individual trying something’.
While it sounds weird, or may seem counterintuitive, it’s extremely helpful in removing urgency or tension in your mind. While you may not believe it, repeating it consistently in your mind will eventually remove this stress of expectation.
» “I’m already in my DR."
Immersion is great, and helps extremely towards shifting, but fully denying CR is not helpful to you. While shifting, you’re going to be feeling this reality. Headphones, (if you use subliminals), maybe your clothes touching your skin, the bed below you (if you like to lie down to shift), or audio around you.
You can’t escape the sensations that ground you to this reality, so repeatedly going ‘I’m already there’, is going to counter your inherent truth that you are in CR, due to physical or auditory sensations that you’ll experience.
Instead, I personally treat shifting like a slow immersion. Give more cognitive resources to the DR environment you’re imagining, instead of trying to give resource to physicality. Physicality does not matter. Imagine, visualize heavily. Engage. Follow a scenario of your choosing, imagine through dialogue and follow a storyline you’re invested in.
。𖦹°‧ Lain’s Shifting Method
If you’re a beginner and find that you’re too aware of the CR to try and focus on the DR, complete sensory deprivation will help you fully detach and be able to focus more on visualization.
You want headphones with white noise or a subliminal, and to be completely blindfolded with a long sleeve jacket (tying the sleeves around your face from behind,) and lying on your back flat.
You’ll want to do my breathing method,
Inhale for 13, exhale for 13,
Inhale for 8, exhale for 8,
And continue through the numbers until you’ve reached one! Once you’ve done that, your body should start to feel relaxed and heavy, and at that point, try to focus more on the scenario of your DR.
Don’t think of this reality, but don’t strain on ignoring it, focus your active thoughts to your DR, focus on visualizing, imagining, and walking through your day.
Once you’re imagining it fully, and you’re walking through your scenario, allow your current body to fall asleep. Allow the scenario to play out without completely control, allow yourself to be there in the moment.
Falling asleep might make you scared you’ll just lucid dream, but the physical body being asleep actually helps when trying to detach and shift the consciousness elsewhere. Falling asleep while acutely aware and following your DR will shift the subconscious.
