Language Tuesday’s- Week One
Are you feeling stuck on what to study in your target language(s)? Every Tuesday I’ll post a subject for you to spend a week studying and reviewing. Some weeks will be Grammar heavy while some are more focused on vocabulary! I hope you enjoy!
Auxiliary Verbs
Take this week to focus on auxiliary verbs. You can find a list of these according to your target language on Wiktionary or by a simple google search. Here is a more thorough breakdown:
Get a list of all auxiliary verbs or as many as you can find.
Make notes on what tenses, moods, functions, prepositions, conjunctions, cases, etc. that they use!
If you can find example sentences, great! If not, try to come up with your own sentences based on things you would actually say in real life.
Make notes on how it differs from your native language.
Submit to Tumblr, Reddit, Lang-8, or other language websites for native speakers to correct when you are done and make notes of any corrections!
Auxiliary verbs are very important when learning a language. A lot of times they are crucial to actually being fluent and understanding in a language. They can differ from their standard verb form quite a bit, and other times not so much! Either way, knowing how they function in the auxiliary sense is very important.
