honestly if i could i would go and move to africa right now. people always think i am joking when i say that i am moving to africa after i graduate but i really do want/plan on doing that. maybe it wont be right after i graduate maybe it will. all i know is that some point in my life i will be living in africa

Traces, Women’s Imprints is a film that ventures to the discovery of three grandmothers kassenas (Burkina Faso), their granddaughter, and the exclusively feminine art of this region’s mural paintings. Between these women’s portraits and a traditional art form, Traces is a painting on paintings that reflects upon transmission, education and memory in the context of a world in mutation. Watch

Awaiting for men, 2007, Mauritania

Oualata, a red city on the far edge of the Sahara desert. In this haven, frail rampart against the sand, three women practice traditional painting, they decorate the walls of the city.

In a society apparently dominated by tradition, religion and men, these women unreservedly express themselves. They comment freely on the relationship between men and women. Trailer
