My family has a great way of distinguishing between a new spouse you like and new spouse you disdain!

Your mom/aunt/grandma/etc remarries and they are actually a cool person, you use their first name. So if you were to introduce them they would be: Aunt Jane and Bob.

If your mom/aunt/grandma/etc remarries and they are a fuckwad you introduce them as: this is Aunt Jane and her second husband. The implication being that they are very replaceable and that we’re all just waiting for her to wise up to the situation and serve you divorce papers, she did it once, she can do it again.

What she thinks: Zuko dared Azula to throw lightning at him because he realised that he probably would not be able to strike a final blow with his fire bending alone, but that with lightning one strike is enough to be deadly. He therefore figured that his best chances to end the Agni Kai would be to use her own lightning against her by redirecting it. Challenging his sister like this actually was a very calculated move, he only failed to take into account how desperate Azula was to win at this point and therefore did not see the chance that she would aim at Katara. Which is really tragic considering it means he clearly accepted that the Agni Kai could not end any other way than with him or his sister dead. Beyond that, for just a moment, their roles from the beginning are reversed here, with Zuko laying out a trap for his sister and her seemingly stepping into it while being hell bound to archive this one thing she believes to be both destiny and meaning of her life.
