I've been thinking about thralldom beneath vampires again. The absolute control they hold over your life, the many and myriad ways they can take your mind from you - oh, for sure, a crimson gaze can melt you down to nothing with only a glance, but nobody lives to six hundred years without getting curious about other options. Hells, maybe they met Erickson or Mesmer themselves! Wouldn't that be something?
Imagine it. You'd never be safe. At any moment, they could creep up behind you, while you're working, focused entirely on your tasks, cleaning their manor and thankful for the opportunity to serve, and with naught but a word, they could turn you from person to plaything. And once they have you helpless, oh, how they'd enjoy you.
Eyes glazed over in stunned helpless trance, slumped against the wall in a pretty little maid outfit, discarded like an empty blood bag... Blood trailing down your neck, pooling beneath you as a vampire wipes their mouth, gently pulling your chin 'til your eyes are in line with theirs...
Oh, how easily you'd slip beneath their spell. They've had centuries to practice their craft, and you're hardly a resistant subject to begin with. You'd lie there so pliable and suggestible, accepting their words as gospel with nary a thought of your own, and once they'd left, you would get up, stumbling and wandering as you unerringly head for the medical wing, dripping blood the whole time... I wonder what the nurses would do to you once you arrive, hmm? While you're weak, helpless, dependent on them for protection...
They could do anything to you, and they could just tell you it was for your own good - you'd believe them. You've been fried so many times you can't even question guidance anymore. Who knows what they've put in your medicine? You're under their control now. Property, to be cared for and kept safe, but also to be used and enjoyed... and nobody would come for you, no matter what happens.
And you'd be right to your tasks again once you'd recovered, of course. Your owners deserve only the finest service, after all.
