I realized I’m old today because Lover (2019) still feels like a “new” Taylor album

I feel like I see a critique of the normal people show a lot when it comes to Daisy being too pretty to play Marianne.

But rereading the book again, as it’s made clear in the show, everyone calls her ugly because they hate her not because she’s unattractive… there’s the scene where the guy who bullied her even admits it directly and then there are tons of random objective comments on how she’s attractive? I still don’t get the critique it’s like people didn’t actually consume the whole show or book before commenting
