As participants in the gig economy, we make a living via such venues as Uber, TaskRabbit, Postmates, and so forth. Unfortunately, we recently experienced a car accident (off-the-clock, and while the non-Ubering spouse was driving!), leaving us unable to utilize Uber until the car is out of the shop. Which could take anywhere between two weeks and two months. Uber is our primary source of income, and until now it has been more than adequate at paying the bills; we just haven’t had a chance to put much away into the savings account. Until we have the car back, we need around $3000 for living expenses for the month of October. These include: - Rent - Car loan payment - Student loan payment (no missed payments for 3 years!) - Groceries - Utilities - Pet supplies, including food for one cat who requires a prescription diet - And so forth… In the event that the car is fixed sooner than expected, and if we wind up not requiring the full amount donated, we’ll turn around and donate the remainder to other fundraisers.

It really fights against my personal pride to do this, but in the end, you don’t get any help if you don’t actually ask for it. So if anyone has room in their budget for helping with our small disaster, I would very much appreciate anything you can offer. All we can offer in return is thanks and more cat pics.
