Out of the Frying Pan and into Hot Water || [[Danny/Odette]]
Danny didn’t like stealing from establishments as much. Unlike people, who were quick to panic and often oblivious, businesses tended to have multiple people willing to work together, and sometimes even worse, cameras and security. Danny avoided most places in Leuda for that later reason. Arcadia was pretty behind in terms of technology, much like the place he’d come from. So it was easier there.
The Den had been going through a rough month, and Danny needed some cash to cover the expenses. Robbing a few chumps here and there was one way to do it, but it’d be more convenient to get the money all at once. And what place was more likely to be crowded than an inn?
Generally, he tended to avoid making trouble around places he might actually visit. If his boat were wrecked, he might need to stay at the inn, and it wouldn’t be good to have a bad reputation there. Then again, that was only a problem if he got caught.
It was late in the evening. Danny had spent part of the day scouting the place out, trying to figure out where the money was kept. It didn’t take long to figure it out. Now all he had to do was get in and out without anyone noticing.
@firedragonpriestess
Odette was busy around the inn. She didn’t have a specific job to do so she basically filled in for whatever needed to be done. She owned the place, so technically that was her job, but she liked to help out around the inn, too.
There were a few customers relaxing in the main room, but no one was checking in. Odette left the front desk unattended to go clean some of the tables in the restaurant area. There was a bell on the desk in case anyone needed anything. If she heard the bell she’d return quickly.
She made her way to the tables across the room and got to work giving them a quick clean.
Lest had been lost in the woods a while now. He'd used all his bread up, trying to make a trail back home. In the end, it was birds and squirrels and bugs that wound up making a meal out of it, rather than him. Maybe he should have come up with a different strategy instead. "Helloooo? Is anyone...

Odette was on a job, but that doesn't mean she couldn't look around as she looked for the princess. She was simply, surveying the area. Might even spot the princess by surveying around. A particularly shady seller caught her eye, maybe she could talk to him and get some underground knowledge on ...

[Cooking Contest - Ratatouille]
Number: 96
Odette loved cooking. It was one of her favorite pass-times. And what was better than not only sharing her food with others but also competing in a contest. Odette loved competitions. This one was a sure-fire. She had the proverbial cat in the bag.
Odette chose to make ratatouille for the cooking contest. She felt confident about her dish as she set it amongst the others. It looked good, and she knew it tasted good. She was happy about her presentation and was excited to see how she’d rank against her competition.

☇: What is the worst emotional pain you've had to endure?
“Definitely my parents dying,” As soon as Odette said it she was hit with a wave of sadness.
Losing them felt like losing a big part of herself. A part of herself she’s sure she’d never get back. It made her more protective over the rest of her family. Growing up her younger sister had always been sickly and her older sister had always been pretty clumsy. She had to look out for both of them. She never wanted to lose anyone else ever again.
Now that they’re older, she didn’t need to be as protective anymore, but she still was. She couldn’t help it! Once you hurt like that you’ll do all you can to not hurt that way again.
A Cool Drink of Water | Gill & Odette
Against his better judgement, Gill decided to wander a bit farther than the library that day, his annoyance at the weather constructively (albeit stubbornly) channeled into determination to see more of the island in spite of it, as he would not allow himself to suffer ignorance in anticipation of more hospitable temperatures any longer. If he was to find solutions for the troubles at home, he must be prepared to do so anywhere– but for all of his foresight regarding such matters, he neglected those more pressing in that moment: namely, his proclivity toward heat exhaustion.
Blinking the sweat from his eyes to better see it, a sign for The Three Sisters’ Inn spelled his saving grace, and Gill entered the blessed coolness of the building before any of the more serious symptoms developed, leaving his wits mostly about him.
“Erm… excuse me,” he began, calling the attention of a lavender-haired woman he presumed to be an employee with less confidence than he might have, had he felt less out-of-sorts. “Does this establishment serve refreshments to those not presently boarding?”
“–Paying customers, of course,” he added as an obvious afterthought, painfully aware of how disheveled he must look.
@firedragonpriestess
Today was an average day at the inn. Most people rooming had left for the day and business was currently slow. This gave Odette time to focus on some cleaning.
As she was wiping down the tables a young man entered. He looked like he wasn’t doing so well.
“Yes we do.” Odette replied quickly. “You can have a seat over here” She gestured towards the table she’d just cleaned.
“Are you feeling alright?” She asked worriedly. It was definitely nosy, but she wanted to make sure he didn’t need a doctor.
Cookies and coworkers || Odette & Ondorus
thelastunivir:
Ondorus walked in with an even look on his face, merely ready for another day at the Dragon Shrine. He already had his tea at home, so he was feeling quite energized for another day. Just as he was walking over to his usual spot in the shrine, he heard one of his co-workers call out to him.
“Hm?” Ondorus looked over at Odette, his eyes soon spotting the plate of cookies, “Ah, you brought these in? Thank you very much.” He walked over, a small smile on his face. He usually didn’t have sweets nowadays. Before, he usually had some with Kuruna whenever she had something sweet to share (that she denied having for herself), but nowadays it was something he scarcely got for himself. Kuruna honestly got sweet things so much that he never thought to get any himself.
“Is there a particular occasion?” Ondorus asked, picking up a cookie.
“You’re very welcome!” Odette replied.
“No occasion, just for fun! I like to bring in treats sometime. Kind of a nice surprise for people visiting the shrine. Plus, I got bored last night and felt like baking,” She said smiling.
Cooking and baking were two of her favorite hobbies. She preferred cooking savory foods, but sweets were easier to make (and share!) and it was late at night. Plus, with sweets you could get really artsy and make colorful and cute things. You of course could make any sort of food rainbow, but people weren’t usually looking for a rainbow lasagna (though maybe that was a good idea...).
“It’s just a fun thing to do sometimes when I can’t sleep. They’re pretty simple, just a regular sugar cookie recipe with some decorative food coloring, so it didn’t take a too much concentration and thinking.”
The Galant Knight || Fairytale AU
The Lotus Butterflies sounded really cool. A shared magical dream? Missing out would suck. But Odette had work to do! She didn’t have time to sleep the day away. Maybe she’d be able to jump in at night...
With many of the workers at the Three Sister’s Inn out, she had to pick up the chores that needed to be done. She was wearing a long sleeve shirt, gloves, and long pants to minimize the chances of a butterfly being able to touch her. It was easy enough, because most of her work was inside.
But then the time came to take the trash out. Odette had been avoiding going out, but she couldn’t just have a bag of trash stinking up the inn!
Wearing her home-made protective gear she readied herself then sprinted out to the trashcan with the trash. All was going well, until she turned to run back and was hit smack in the face with one of those butterflies. What a graceful place to fall asleep: the trash.
-
When Odette opened her eyes she found herself searching the street. Sporting a suit of armor, there were a few others dressed like her in the area.
She was a knight. And quite a good knight. She didn’t work for any kingdom in particular, and instead was hired for important missions. She’d saved many princesses, befriended many dragons, fought many foes. But today her mission was to find a particular princess.
She’d been hired by a king who’s daughter had fled the kingdom. She’d been gone for awhile now. Was the king mean to her? Why would she run away like that? It wasn’t her job to consider those questions, but she often did.
But she couldn’t answer any of those questions now. For now she had a princess to find.

Baking Buddies || Odette & Bob
@firedragonpriestess;
Bob enjoyed coming by the Three SIsters Inn for a bite to eat. Occasionally, he brought Odette baked goods, from one chef to another, and because he enjoyed sharing what he made. Odette had a competitive streak a mile wide and it was something he could respect since he loved a good race, but she outclassed him in cooking.
Still, he was proud to show off his creations.
“Hey, Odette, get a load of these beauties.” Bob held up a plastic bag of horse-shaped cookies inter-mixed with carrot-shaped ones. “These little carrot ones are actually a carrot batter, and the horses are ginger snaps.”
Odette owned the Three Sisters Inn, but she had a separate manager running day-to-day business so she could focus on her work at the Dragon King Shrine. However, she still liked to stop by and cook up some fun recipes. The ingredients stocked at the Inn were a bit different than the ones at home. The usual chef never minded her coming in to help out.
Though she worked back in the kitchen normally she made a note to greet all guests who enter the door. When she heard the door open she’d poke her head out and greet them. Partially because it’s good manners, partially because she’s nosy. ;P
Today when she heard the door open it turned out to be her friend, and fellow cooking enthusiast, Bob! She quickly ran out to greet him giving him a hug.
“Hey those are totally cute!” She said, looking at the bag he was holding up, “I love that you used carrot batter to make the carrots, that’s really clever! Come on, lets go get a plate so we can properly look at these cookies!”
She said before leading him to the kitchen.
Cookies and coworkers || Odette & Ondorus
Showing up on time with your Starcadiabucks > showing up 15 minutes late with your starcadiabucks.
As Odette descended the stairs she made her way to the small table that held information pamphlets, unspoken wish cards, the box for the cards, and an empty space. In that empty space she placed the plate of cookies she’d made and removed the saran wrap covering them.
As she took a sip of her iced coffee she noticed one of her coworkers arriving.
“Ondorus!” She said, waving, “Come try one of these cookies I made!”

🙂: Who, out of the people that you know, has the best smile?
“The BEST smile? Thats a big decision. I don’t know... I don’t think I’ve found someone whose smile was as bright as my dad’s.” Odette shrugged, “It was a long time but I can still remember the warmth.”
wishful thinking | jack & odette
jvckofhearts:
[ @firedragonpriestess ]
•。 ♡ Whereas he was almost completely certain that Odette loathed his guts and saw red each and every time she saw him, Jack actually - quite the contrary - still enjoyed visiting and spending time with her, albeit infrequent; nevertheless, he came around occasionally to poke a little bit of humorous fun and ignite the fire that was always ablaze behind her golden eyes - it was one of the features about her that captivated him in the first place. From the bottom of his heart, though, he genuinely cared for her and wished to know that she was doing alright; although they split cordially, there was a sliver of him that missed what they had. Jack knew that it was better for the both of them, however, that they remain friends - or admirable rivals - whatever worked for their fairly odd relationship.
Until she explicitly told him to leave her alone and not speak to her, then he would continue to make an effort toward maintaining the bond they share - he would respect her wishes if it arrived at that point - but she had to admit that she had too much fun toying with him and vice versa.
“Hey there, stranger,” Jack called out to her upon ascending the final step to the Dragon Shrine, offering a small wave and smile whilst the other hand held a Tupperware dish containing a few sweet delicacies. If all went according to plan, then he will win the unspoken game that the two were willing - and more than eager - players in. “How are you doing? Busy day today?”
Odette had just finished assisting a nice old lady with a wish when she noticed one of her exes entering the shrine area. She internally groaned but kept all negative feelings out of her voice and facial expression until she finished speaking with the woman.
“Thank you, Mrs. Holland” She said, seeing the woman off. She was very kind and came fairly often making wishes to keep her family members safe, “Feel free to take a treat on your way out.”
After Mrs. Holland left and thankfully there was no one else around she was able to address Jack.
She put her hands on her hips and gave him a frustrated look. She shook her head though, knowing he meant to Real harm. Probably just to bother her.
“Yeah, actually. It’s nice though. I love busy days. I love being able to help people with their wishes, it’s so rewarding.” She said smiling.
“And what brings you here? I doubt you’re here for a wish.” She smirked.
