Un'inguaribile lettrice

Abbracciatemi forte, regalatemi un libro o lasciatemi coccolare un gatto... E io sarò felice! Sì, lo so. Noioso. Ma tanto nessuno di voi mi abbraccerà mai, né arriverà a inviarmi un libro con un gattino in allegato! Oh mamma, sarebbe davvero favoloso. Dicevo. Leggo taaaaantissimo - esiste il leggere troppo? - e adoro qualunque felino vi possa venire in mente. Sì, anche una tigre siberiana va bene. Adoro i pennarellini colorati, le matite, i post it e qualunque altra cianfrusaglia vi venga in mente di cercare in una cartoleria. Basta che sia colorata stile evidenziatore. La musica - di qualunque genere - è spesso lo sfondo delle mie giornate e solitamente ascolto la stessa canzone fino allo sfinimento... Fortunatamente ho scoperto di non essere l'unica a concedersi questa stramberia. E poi, semplicemente, amo scrivere. Sì, alla follia. É il mio rimedio personale.

One thing I started doing a long time ago that changed my relationships is I started making myself speak up when I had nice thoughts. If I’m in line at the grocery store & I notice that the woman in front of me has beautiful eyes, I say something. If my sister walks in the house & I like her eyebrows, I say something. People forget how much little tiny compliments like that can make someone’s whole day. It doesn’t even have to just be compliments. It could be saying “I love you” when you’re thinking it even if it’s at a random time. Sometimes I get up and go over to my mom just to give her a hug out of the blue cause I was thinking about her. I’ll randomly send my friends texts about how I appreciate them whenever I’m thinking it. Little gestures like that mean so much.

I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHY THIS HAPPENS. You see this all the time when there’s a fight or a scrum and suddenly everyone pairs up with a member of the opposite team and they just sort of …hold each other.

Someone on reddit asked about it. And it turns out there’s a logical-ish reason:

all of the other players pair off with their man to prevent anyone else entering into the fight … so it’s a form of self policing. 

[…] The players basically want to prevent 2 on 1, etc. fights and by finding a “hugging” partner so there’s no ganging up on one guy, even on accident. They do it because it’s fair. And it’s kind of cute sometimes.

so now we know! it’s fair…and cute.

I walked to a deli and got a sandwich to go and a coffee and while I was waiting these two teenage girls ran up and were like OH MY GOD JESSICA HOW ARE YOU and then hugged me and the one whispered “that guy was following you and taking pictures of you” and then they walked home with me and that one guy stopped following me and hONESTLY THIS IS WHAT I AM HERE FOR
