CHAPTER 1: "Achievement Unlocked: Met the Protagonist"
The office always stayed quiet and serene most of the time. The sunlight kissing your skin as you typed away your life. Bills and rent had to be paid somehow. Perched at your desk with your pink MacBook neo, which you relied on to write emails to important people, and occasionally read the smuttiest fics you could find on Tumblr. Not that anyone knows ... of course. beside you was your best friend Shoko, she'd always talk about Utahime, on how they'd gone on a date and stuff. Sometimes it'd made you wonder, when will you get to experience love like that? Maybe love wasn't for you. of course, you'd heard of tinder and other dating apps, but they just never worked out and most came out to be total creeps, like Naoya ... total weirdo with a pretty face. Augh ... made you shiver thinking about it. you'd also heard about those dating simulators ... you promised yourself you'd NEVER stoop that low. Not even if you were 50 with no husband or kids. It was just a game with a fictional character, that's all it was. What was the point of wasting your time playing something like that? A small sigh left your heart-shaped lips as you glanced over at your clock, which was perched on the right of your desk. Hopefully this date could finally work.
it read. Your hands pushed your chair back as your hands grabbed your shoulder bag from beside you.
"Shoko, I'm going to go now! see you tomorrow!"
you rang out towards her, as she waved you goodbye.
"Bye bye, get home safe!"
Her words clung to you like glue, lingering in the back of your mind with every step. Your Mary Janes clicked softly against the concrete as you made your way home, the setting sun brushing your face with warmth. One arm balanced your work bag, the other swinging lazily as you climbed the stairs of your apartment complex. You greeted your neighbors out of habit—they were kind, familiar faces. The whole scene had settled into routine by now, comfortable and peaceful.
Your feet carefully taking your shoes off, placing them neatly at the door. Your arm swung your work bag onto the bed as you grabbed your laptop, and this time not for work reasons ...
" ... there's nothing good on here ... "
you muttered to yourself, scrolling through Tumblr. Because maybe that would combat your loneliness. Right hand ready to close your laptop in exasperation until ...
your brows furrowed lightly, as an email icon popped up.
it read. Your cursor moving up and clicking onto the email. Only to be bombarded with emails of a ... dating simulator? you only shook your head before closing your laptop shut with a scoff.
You muttered to yourself as you pushed up from the bed, deciding it was time for the full reset — the kind of long, everything-in-one shower that made you feel brand new. By the time you stepped out, your skin felt fresh, your hair, styled into a cute, effortless look. Afterall, it wasn’t a fancy date, just the movies, but you still wanted to feel put together. You dressed yourself with your outfit. a fuzzy Hello Kitty tank top paired with a short‑sleeved white cardigan that worked perfectly with the warm, early‑summer weather. Your pink‑and‑white striped mini skirt tied at the waist with a little drawstring bow. A small heart locket, that Shoko gifted you on your 19th birthday.
The sounds of the light conversations happening inside the theatre, and the sound of children laughing. The cashier taking peoples orders as well as you were waiting for the popcorn your date had ordered. already having an off feeling about this guy. such dull eyes, never judge to early, I guess.
"All-right we're good to go."
His voice spoke, pulling you out of your thoughts. Your doe-like yes stared right up at him as you gave him a smile. Your shoes clicking and clacking against the marble floors, following him inside the theatre as you both took your seats ...
What's the worst that can happen right? not even 20 minutes into the movie and he'd already started touching you! ridiculous! and so now you're walking the rain back to your apartment which luckily isn't too far from the movies.
you'd mutter under your breath as you grumbled the whole way back home. Feet pattering against the stairs as you opened the door and slammed it closed. a soft sigh left your lips, walking back to your room in silence. only then did you stare at yourself in the mirror, wondering how did it all come to this? why was it so hard to fall in love? You would call shoko but she's probably sleeping and is most likely definitely at Utahime's house.
Your laptop ... it was still on the same position it was in when you received that ridiculous email ... was it ridiculous? NO. you can't give in ... buttt maybe once won't hurt ... it wouldn't hurt at all ...
your hands opening your laptop once more, still open onto the email. Your hands moved your cursor over towards the weird ad link thing. Upon clicking ...
a man with these serene blue eyes and unnaturally white hair, stared right at you through the screen. The play button right in front of your cursor. might as well click play right?
"thank you for clicking play. I'm Gojo Satoru, THE one and only Gojo Satoru"
the man spoke, his voice was kind of comforting ... woah what were you saying? he's fake and obviously just trying to drain the life out of you ... his lips curled up into a smile ...
he looked weirdly alive, like he was REALLY staring at you.
