Everquest - Firiona Vie - Latan

i set up at Culthor the gatekeeper in Sol C to knock out my first raid target

but the guardians were respawning so fast it felt like I wouldn't be successful. I never actually engaged him, I slept most of yesterday. I think I am going to take a little break and just level my pocket ranger/rogues. Then I can use my three rogues to quickly set up a campfire when I'm doing a raid target.

the Rogues are named Sneekurs, Forsneaking (simpsons reference) and the ranger is named Wallkur Texasranger. Lame, I know.

I looked at a lot of the achievements working my way down from the top, and a lot of them seem too difficult for me still. Also, the slayer tasks I figure will complete themselves as I do other tasks. I did do the "I'm a people person" one though.

So I hopped down to the original Everquest tab of achievements, which is what I have really been looking forward to. I'm going to knock off the exploration tab quick like and then there are raid targets and that daunting hunter tab..

Achievermenters

Working down the achievement list.. general.. got the keys I could, veeshan peak key looks like a pain so I'll wait till I level an extra rogue or ranger to keep track of Trak. Skills I did all I could up to level 65, been camping Hilog for 6.5 hours but no pouch yet for throwing skill.

Tradeskills - I took a look at the Artisan Wares quest, but it requires a Quis of Elements, so I will need to wait. As for the other tradeskills it is not that I am not willing to put the time into them but more that my accounts are still new so I don't have a ton of plat to spend on tradeskills. I'll definitely come back to them though.

Hero's Journey - well I have done some of these on different toons, mostly for the gear, but the thing is these are also all TSS quests. So I gotta ask myself should I keep working on them or should I work on some previous expansions first? This tab also has some of the long-ass quests that spanned whole expansions (3 from GoD, 3 from PoR)

Hero's Journey, Quests sub tab - these are a bunch of low level quests from the original EQ zones. This doesn't look hard but there are a ton and I will need to faction a lot I am guessing, for the cities that don't like me. Maybe I'll work on these for a while until I get sick of them.

Heck yeah, 6 1.0 epics done. They were upgrades for 5/6 of my toons too, at least until I loot or buy some better defiant gear.

3:30AM no undead bard still.. Trak popped around 12:30PM so killed sometime around then or 1PM.. earliest pop (for bard) recorded is twelve hours (after trak death) others say 18 so.. undead bard should pop around 12:30AM to 7:00AM..?

Around 17 hours spawn after trak death? Not sure exactly when Trak was killed.

Trakanon popped so I moved my rogue and loaded my toons but when I moved back another bard was there and already killed Trak. Oh well. Maybe he will get tired of waiting for the undead bard.

Current plans

So I was trying to decide what to do with my toons next and I said screw it, I will just go down the achievement list. The first set is for AAs so I will just let that happen naturally. Next is epics, I have 4/6 of my 1.0s and I'll wait to do the next till I'm in that expansion.

Then the next one is keys and I remember why I made my bard. I got my paladin his Paineel and Hole key, but my other toons didn't get faction hits since they didn't hit the mobs. So I made a bard hoping that their group heal song would give the whole group faction points without hitting the mobs. Does that work? I can't remember.

No, it doesn't. Oh well, I'm still glad I leveled the bard, I always wanted to play one but stayed away for some reason. I bought a Heretics potion of peace from the loyalty vendor, but it doesn't improve the faction, it just resets the faction to whatever that character originally started at so I couldn't use it (I was hoping it would set the faction to indifferent).

Hardcore heritage zones are supposed to revert back to normal today, so I should be able to spawn Trakanon and complete the bard's epic today. Rogue can camp for his last two weapons in SolB.

Anyways, looks like I'm going to spend the day working on those epics and keys to Paineel/hole. Seems like the fastest way to raise faction with Heretics is just to slaughter the zone with a merc one toon at a time rather than teaming them up.

Latan, everquest 1, FV server 9:34 PM 6/27/2022

My name is Latan. Been playing Everquest since it was released. Recently started playing again on the Firiona Vie server. I am trying to do my own sort of progression rather than just rushing to the maximum level.

So far I have 6 toons: Paladin, cleric, ranger, rogue, bard, wizard, level ~65, 250 AA. Also, have a shaman but started using the bard instead. Also, have a spare ranger I am leveling for a pocket tracker. I'm leveling him with two other rogues so I have three rogues total, then I can use the three of them to sneak anywhere and place a fellowship campfire to save me some time rather than clearing to a camp spot.

Currently have completed my paladin and cleric 1.0 epic quests. Ranger is stuck on the plane of hate gem, rogue and bard are waiting for hardcore heritage to end, and wizard needs Venril. My current goal for a while was to complete all their first epic quests, not sure what I will work on after that. My characters are all level 65 and hit the cap on AA for free accounts. I don't want them to level anymore, so I'll pay for premium memberships and keep working on AA after paying rent.

I don't know If I will follow through with this blog, it is just another waste of time that I should be using elsewhere. Time that I could be gaining XP.
