Latvia, silver collector 5 euro coin “Latgale Congress”, year 2017

Obverse The obverse shows the representatives of various strata of society – participants of the Latgale Congress of Latvians, carrying a red-white-red poster calling for the unification of Latvia. The inscriptions "5 euro" and "1917–2017" are placed on the top left and right respectively.

Reverse The reverse features women with children standing at the crucifix; the inscription "Latgola" is placed at the bottom.

Obverse The obverse shows a ring of perlucor, enclosed by a silver outer ring, with a silver curved image of the Earth featuring geophysical map of the world in colour print at its centre. The silver outer ring carries the inscriptions 5 EURO and LATVIJA at the top and bottom respectively.

This coin, featuring the coat of arms of Vidzeme, is the first one in the series of 2 euro commemorative coins dedicated to Latvia's cultural and historical regions. It is one of Latvijas Banka's contributions to the country's centenary.

Latvia, gold 5 euro coin  “ Gold Brooches. The Disc Fibula”, year 2016

On Thursday, 10 November, Latvijas Banka is issuing a new 5 euro gold collector coin "Gold Brooches. The Disc Fibula". The coin replicating a 3rd–4th century disc fibula is the first in the series of euro gold collector coins dedicated to Latvia's brooches and the country's centenary. It has also been planned to issue within this series collector coins replicating the horseshoe and bubble fibulae.

The graphic design of the coin "Gold Brooches. The Disc Fibula" has been created by Ingūna Elere but the plaster model – by Solvita Rulle. The coin "Gold Brooches. The Disc Fibula" has been minted by Münze Österreich Aktiengesellschaft (Austria). The maximum mintage of the coin is 7 000.

Latvian, silver 5 euro collector coin "National Entrepreneur", year 2016.

The obverse of the coin features a QR code with a message addressed to the future generation of entrepreneurs ("Work with Courage, Determination and Responsibility!"), while the reverse shows 25 raised facets, each symbolising a year dedicated to entrepreneurship. The obverse of the coin is smooth and represents the vast area of work to be populated by the values of nascent generations.

Latvia, 2 euro commemorative coin “Latvian brown” featuring a cow, year 2016.

The image of a cow, the symbol of the Latvian farming and countryside, once authored by Gunārs Lūsis (graphic design) and Jānis Strupulis (plaster model) and featured on the 2 lats circulation coin, has been restored to live again on the 2 euro commemorative coin. The new coins are struck by UAB Lietuvos monetų kalykla.

The issuing volume of the 2 euro commemorative coin "The Cow" is 1 million. 10 000 Brilliant Uncirculated quality coins in special souvenir packing will also be on sale (7.30 euro each at Latvijas Banka Cashier's Offices). Likewise, special sets of the eight Latvian euro circulation coins and the commemorative coin "The Cow" in Brilliant Uncirculated quality will also be available (5 000 sets, 25.00 euro each at Latvijas Banka Cashier's Offices).

Latvia, silver 5 euro collector coin "500 Years of Livonian Ferding"

Obverse The central field bears the image of the obverse of ferding struck in 1515, featuring the family coats of arms of Riga Archbishop Jasper Linde (1509–1524) and Master of Livonian Order Wolter von Plettenberg (1494–1535), with the year 1515 above them; the legend MO[neta]:AR[c]|HE:PI[scopi]|ET.MA|GI[stri].LIV[oniae] (A coin of Archbishop and Master of the Livonia), enclosed by two lines of dots, is running around it; the long cross of the Livonian Order cuts the legend into four segments. The shining outer ring bears semi-circled inscriptions LATVIJA and 5 EURO at the bottom and on right respectively.

Reverse The central field bears the image of the reverse of ferding struck in 1515, featuring standing Virgin Mary with a child in right hand and sceptre in left; the image is encircled by a halo and the legend MARI[a]:TU[um]:SALVA.PO[pulum] (Mary, save your people!), enclosed by two lines of dots. The shining outer ring bears semi-circled inscriptions 2015 and VĒRDIŅAM 500 (500 years of ferding) at the bottom and on top right respectively.
