âHome is where the heart isâ
Without a single doubt, Scotland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and Iâm more than proud to call it my home. In my short 3 week period in the blogging world, I have came across a number of people with hopes to visit one day in their future and I highly advise them too.
From the beautiful highland mountains to the glorious calm lochs, waterfalls and caves.  There are so many adventures to be made here. Big and small but equally exciting. I have visited numerous places in Scotland over the years but none like I have in the last year. Since being with David, who comes from the highlands, I have explored and seen some of the most amazing sights. So for anyone who hopes to visit here are some of my very own favouritesâŚ

The most obvious place to be number one of course. Situated in Fort William, it is the Highest mountain in the British Isles. Who wouldnât be impressed by this beautiful giant and the breathe taking views. A difficult climb especially in the snow at the start of January when myself and a group of friends decided have a go. Sadly on that occasion reaching the summit was impossible due to the sudden change in weather conditions and near to no visibility. Ben Nevis is a climb that you must be very well equipped with its uneven terrain, taking around 4/5 hours to reach the summit and limited time between sunrise and sunset, planning your hike is a BIG recommendation.Â
Being the Dominating summit of Moray, North Scotland, Ben Rinnes is another beautiful hill walk with incredible views. With clear paths to the summit, it can be an easy hike in dry conditions, however with the snow again becoming a big issue in the North, paths becoming invisible and before you know it, you are snowed up to your waists if you do loose it.. Literally. This one I enjoyed a lot and recommend to anyone who may visit the surrounding Scottish towns.
Visit the home of Nessie, The second largest loch in Scotland and enjoy the incredible breathe taking views around the whole 23 miles. Wither it be walking, cycling, driving or camping. Loch Ness is one place I could sit and look at for hours on end and never get bored. Its a must see. On the South tip of the loch lies Fort Augustus where you can see the best of the views and enjoy watching the boats of the Caledonian Canal navigating the locks. My sisters and I took a glamping trip up last year and got some stunning photographs. From here, take a short walk around The Falls of Foyers also and see the glorious waterfalls that feed Loch Ness.
Much like Loch Ness and situated only a few miles away in Lochaber, Loch Lochy offers great landscape views, boat trips and beautiful little stone beaches, perfect for wild camping and fishing. On our trip to Loch Ness my sisters and I could not resist stopping in the scorching hot sunshine to enjoy the glass, calm waters.
There is nothing more spectacular than caves and beaches and Cove Sea is one of these places. Until last year when David took me, I had never heard of the place. Situated between Lossiemouth and Hopeman on the Moray firth coast (voted one of the most breath-taking coasts in the world) this is a sight that everyone would want to enjoy over and over again. Lined with sandy bays and sculpted caves, it is the perfect place to relax watching the sun go down. We spent hours making memories here, jumping over rocks, climbing up cliff sides and skimming stones across the still waters.
Another sight based in Moray, on the outskirts of Forres, The River Findhorn weaves its way through the masses of rocks. Take a walk along the river banks, through the trees with some steep cliff side drops or for anyone who is a little bit of a thrill seeker like David and I were, take pleasure in jumping from rock to rock over dangerous rapids. You can also visit ACE Adventures hideaways which offers various sports such as white water rafting and cliff jumping down this River.
If you enjoy taking a walk on the wild side.. You will Enjoy the Highland wildlife park.. visit animals in the snow! Located in the Scottish Cairngorms, with a huge variety of scottish and endangered mountain animals it is a day well spent. Tigers, Polar bears, Arctic Foxes, Northern Lynx, Wolves, Scottish Wildcats and so much more. I have visited the park a couple of times and itâs definitely my favourite. The animals have so much space to roam and your guaranteed to see everything. Nothing ever hides away! Canât forget the wonderful views of the Cairngorm mountains at the viewpoint too. So pretty!
