I think vegetarians are so hypocritical. They say how they not want to harm animals but they don't mind them being mistreated for their lattes. Vegan or might as well eat meat. Love you sister xx

I get where you’re coming from but I think it’s important to remember that not everybody knows what you know.

I was veggie for 5 years and was completely oblivious about milk/eggs/honey etc. I used to think going vegan would mean sacrificing my health and spending lots of money that I didn’t have. (turns out it’s the healthier and cheaper option and i feel so stupid now but hey!)

It’s only really hypocritical if they’re educated. It’s ex-vegans and educated vegetarians/omnivores that really grind my gears.

Let me tell you what skinny felt like to me. Skinny was exhaustion like I’ve never felt before. Skinny was the fear of anyone, even my family, looking at me. Skinny was crying at the dinner table because the screams of ED drowned out the pleas of my family. Skinny was excruciating rib pain and stomach pain that made me double over and beg for relief. Skinny was being unable to sing at my idol’s concert because my throat was burned from my own self-destruction. Skinny was being disappointed when I woke up every morning. Skinny was panic attacks that made me want to—and try to—claw my own eyes out. Skinny was guilt and self-disgust when my mother held me and cried because her daughter was dying every minute because, even after all that, she truly believed that “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” Well, I had a slice of cake yesterday, and let me tell you what it tasted like. It tasted like freedom from the shackles that have imprisoned me for five years. It tasted like strength that vomiting and starvation could have never given me. It tasted like the light that’s been lost from my life for so long. It tasted like the laughter I could finally have at the dinner table. It tasted like a gain, not of weight, but of my life. It tasted like pride when my mother held me and smiled because she’s getting her daughter back. So “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”? Bullshit.
