Hey remember early last year when the Large Hadron Collider overloaded and broke down and people were like “phew good thing nothing weird happened like a shift in reality.” Maybe it’s time to revisit that.

Hello all! In light of recent events, the webcomics community wants our transgender and nonbinary friends to know that we stand behind them. We have teamed up to create this art print/poster, and will be selling them here. We will be donating all the proceeds to Trans Lifeline, an organization focused on providing front line intervention for trans people in crisis. Please check out this list of trans and non binary comic creators as well. We love and support you! —Your webcomic friends
Extremely proud to be a part of this collab! Please buy a print and reblog for the cause!
Also, please reach out with names/links to your favorite trans and non-binary creators so we can help the list grow.
I started writing again, in the few minutes I can spare each day between homework assignments.
I’ve been writing a little. It’s tough to fit in with work and school.
A Writer’s Notes: How do you manage your book collection?
I’ve started to blog a little bit about mindfulness/lifestyle/decluttering and this is the first post I’ve finished. It doesn’t seem to be as popular as posts about writing, but I’ll keep trying for a little while.
The other day my phone started beeping and a message took over my screen. It was a weather alert, warning of flash flooding. Basically, the technological equivalent of a mom telling a kid, “Put your jacket on! It’s raining!”
autism is widely underdiagnosed in girls because autistic women tend to present as quiet and reserved, which is just how women are supposed to be.
personality disorders are underdiagnosed in men because they tend to present more explosively and involve more narcissistic behaviours, which is just how men are supposed to be.
sexism isn’t good for anyone. don’t be fooled.
So I’ve discovered that there is a subset of people who complain about radio ads on social media. That’s something I’ve always wanted to do but never had the time or energy for.
This works for me. (via chapmanchapman)
Shel Silverstein always knows what’s up.
I can’t find this Facebook post, but I saw it yesterday and I can’t stop thinking about it. It showed one of those rare instances in which someone just comes out and admits what you’ve suspected a lot of people do.
One of my friends was pleading with people to not share a particular post filled with misinformation (outdated at best, maybe wrong to start with). Someone responded that they didn’t care if it was true or not, and in fact even though they knew it had false information, they were going to share it because they liked it.
Ribbons and Glass (or, Cinderella as a YA novel)
Ella doesn’t much like the ball.
The elegant clothes, the flowing wine and endless trays of food - it’s all nauseating to her. The countryside is poverty-stricken, the men drafted for war after endless war, and the king and queen’s only son and heir is so vapid that he can only recognize women by the size of their feet.
She leaves at the stroke of midnight. Her gown returns to rags. She goes to live with the faeries, studying their magic. Together they stage a rebellion against the kingdom, trying to restore peace and prosperity.
After a long fight where no one is drafted, because everyone fully believes in her cause and she treats her soldiers fairly, she sits on the throne. Her guests, human and faerie, are as well-fed as the rest of her people. No one wears shoes made of glass.
